Our DL play was actually pretty average last year. Far more talented than production would imply IMO.

LINK measures it in a bunch of different statistical measures...

According to this we were second to last in the SECW:

Adjusted Line Yards (ALY): Statistic that attempts to, even to a small extent, separate the ability of a running back from the ability of the offensive line.

Presented on a scale in which 100.0 is perfectly average, above 100 is good, below 100 is bad.

Defense Adj. LY Rk
Alabama - 144.6 - 1

Arkansas - 128.5 - 5

Ole Miss - 121.1 - 8

LSU - 116.1 - 17

Auburn - 108.1 - 36

MS State - 104.6 - 44

Texas A&M - 89.1 - 108

According to this we were third in the SECW:

Adjusted Sack Rate (ASR)/Sack Rate: Sack Rate represents sacks divided by pass plays, which include passes, sacks, and aborted snaps. It is a better measure of pass blocking than total sacks because it takes into account how often an offense passes the ball. Adjusted Sack Rate adds adjustments for opponent quality, as well as down and distance (sacks are more common on third down, especially third-and-long).

Presented on a scale in which 100 is perfectly average, above 100 is good, below 100 is bad.

Defense Adj Sack Rate Rk
Ole Miss - 128.8 - 22

Texas A&M - 112 - 37

MS State - 111.5 - 38

Arkansas - 106.8 - 53

Alabama - 85.2 - 92

Auburn - 82 - 96

LSU - 74 -103

So from these stats it seems like we had more success on passing downs than running downs. Anyway Coach O would've been a boost to both of our stats.

LA TECH was ranked 4th and 24th in both categories. Hopefully Manny had some influence in that.
