Why is everyone assuming the Tigers new DC will fail?

Its not like the last guy was holding their D together with duct tape. The D will be fine. The offense is the real dumpster fire. LF with a legit qb is scary. Any chance you guys land B.Miller?

Because of that time he failed as Clemson DC, and Alabama DC, and Baylor HC.

LSU fans melt. It's what they do. Plus they got all excited because the hints that were being leaked suggested the new DC was still coaching a game (NC or nfl playoff). Then there were rumors of getting Smart from Alabama.
The bombshell was getting a DC who failed miserably as a head coach, failed several times as a DC, and was a position coach at Alabama.
I agree that qb is their biggest weakness and def their biggest strength. If the offense is sputtering like it has been it puts a lot of pressure on the defense. Hence the need to hire someone really good to make up for the lack in offensive production.

As bad as I hate to say it, because he's failed everywhere he's coached (other than the LB coach for bama).

Because his entire career outside of being a position coach has been a failure.
