$25 increase for the whole season? Big fricking deal
Posted on 1/14/15 at 8:29 am to SavageOrangeJug
No but maybe you can skimp on the McDonald's runs to save that $25

I mean, it's only $25 which shouldn't be a big deal to anyone that can afford season tickets but it's the principle that kind of pisses me off. How many times have they raised ticket prices now since the football program has been In bad shape?
Maybe I'm blowing this out of proportion but I just think it's horseshite to raise ticket prices on a fanbase that just averaged 99k per game(up 4%) to watch a 7-6 team.

I don't see the point of season tickets when there are only 3 or 4 good games and 3 or 4 crap games. Until the demand gets back to 90s levels, you can just pick the games you want to go to. I guess you want to get your spot on the train before it takes off again, but I don't think that's worth a grand or two of donations a year.

Does anyone know if this year's season ticket package includes the Bowling Green game?
Posted on 1/14/15 at 10:46 am to NukemVol
I believe it's only true home games

Exactly, it is a matter of principle.
The most expensive ticket (UT vs AU) was $17 in 1991.
Today tickets to the premium SEC games are nearly $100. That is what, a 400% inflation rate?
Sorry, but that is bullshite.

I've had my spot for 20+ years, good or bad teams. The donation is just that, a donation.
I'm to the point now of making the donation, and dropping the tickets.

Hell no...they will call that a 'special event' ticket. Hold it in a smaller venue, and jack the price up to see UT vs freakin' Bowling Green (originally it was UAB).

I can get that then. It's a donation, not a financial decision.

Yeah and bread was $.10 and you could buy a house for 10K in the 80s. Inflation happens. And if $25 is enough to make you drop your tickets then that's just sad.

Bull fricking shite!
It only takes $29.61 to buy what $17 bought in 1991. Tickets have went up to nearly $100.

$25 isn't enough to make anyone drop their tickets. Gouging the frick out of long time donors and season ticket holders is.
Maybe if Jimmy Cheek quit diverting athletics funds elsewhere, or football wasn't having to pay for scholarships for that Title IX bullshite.

That $25 really pissed him off
Posted on 1/14/15 at 7:11 pm to Supravol22
Yeah...it was all about the $25.

In the University's defense they aren't doing anything everyone else isn't doing
Also, we keep demanding they shell out 3+ million dollars a year for a coach plus pay for premium assistants this is the kind of stuff it takes. It's called accounting
