A thought provoking, slightly insecure thread about Urban and Saban

Saw a post about inheriting programs in an Urban Meyer thread (of course) so it made me check something out.
A couple of years prior to Nick Saban's arrival, Alabama's records were as follows.
Starting at a slightly arbitrary year of 2000 and going up chronologically:
3-8
7-5
10-3
4-9
6-6
10-2
6-7
Obviously it ends at 2006 since Saban's arrival was in 2007.
Now let's start at 2007 and go up to Urban's arrival.
The records are as follows going up chronologically:
11-2
10-3
11-2
12-1
6-7
If you want to include the 2006 season, go ahead since they got all the way to a national championship where florida tore them a new a-hole.
As you can see, Saban didn't necessarily inherit a shite show, but obviously you can tell Nick inherited a program that had been slammed with sanctions and still recovering. Now back to Urban Meyer. The last year before his arrival was mediocre at best but was an anomaly amongst a long run of success. Jim Tressel was a really good coach that had some great players left for Urban Meyer.
Basically what I am saying is that just like Saban, up until this job, Urban Meyer is a program jumper that leaves right when a better job comes up and/or leaves when a new kid on the block beats the shite out of him. Don't get me wrong. I know and all of you know. Urban Meyer is a GOAT candidate and one of the greats of our time. But saying he's done a better job than Saban or is BETTER than Saban is questionable at best and is more in Saban's favor.
The only real notable recruits Saban got to sign upon his first year that I can remember are....McClain? I can't really remember any big time studs on recruiting from that year. Anyway, Saban took a bunch of Shula recruits and turned them into a national championship team that in 2009 had SIX All-Americans. This also includes a head to head matchup where he plastered a Florida team that returned their entire two deep on defense and a former Heisman winner. Urban Meyer has never reached a perfect record (in a national championship season).
All I really have to say. What do you say based on what's presented to you besides-

This is like the Stoops/Gus is better than Saban shite last year....
Most of you will do anything but admit to yourself Saban is better.

Two great coaches.
Urban is younger so I would pick him.

I think Saban is the better coach too. But no denying that Urban has the talent to put together some ridiculous teams

I think you can easily argue the case for either Saban or Meyer being the best in the game today based on resume.
Only the Bama fans I've encountered the last 24 hours seem to be upset about even the possibility that Meyer might be better.
It's probably best to say they are both elite and leave it at that. Better luck to Lord Saban the next time he plays Meyer or anybody else in the Sugar Bowl for that matter.

I think that has to do with the knowledge that it's quite easy to troll Gumps by suggesting (fill in the blank coach) is better than Saban.
A large number of your fanbase will accept nothing less than constant adulation of Lord Saban and Bama's ranking as the bestest program in the history of mankind.
Or so I've heard...
That said, I like quite a few of the Gumps I know here and that I've met in real life. You know who you are.

If you look at Florida prior to Meyer, they had won 23 games the three years prior to his arrival (23-15).
Per your numbers, Alabama had won 22 in the three years prior to Saban's arrival.
Pretty similar.
ETA: I don't think any honest fan would be sad to have either coach their team.
