Anywhere between 15-25 is appropriate I think. The team needs to prove itself, I don't care what the media thinks about Muschamp, our running backs, or JJ

2. Auburn (8-5)
Why No. 2? Because adding Will Muschamp as defensive coordinator will give the Tigers the teeth they need to return to the championship race. At the same time, there's no reason to think the offense will struggle in the transition from quarterback Nick Marshall to his likely replacement, Jeremy Johnson — better yet, there's reason to think a more experienced offense will be even more explosive under Gus Malzahn's direction. The Tigers look poised to make another run at a national title.

I get a queasy feeling when we're ranked this high in the preseason.

Or we're just used to our team doing that?

I like it. It can't hurt with recruiting. I hope Gus can build the program to a point where we are a consistent top 5 ranked pre-season, regular season, post season type program.

As do I.

I no longer want to puke when I see an early game time, so we're moving in the right direction.

I am taking a "Show Me" attitude this year with the defense. I like the Muschamp hire and I think he will fix the defense, but I need to see at least an average defense before I get excited.

2 is two high in my opinion. Auburn deserves to be ranked somewhere between 15 - 20.

I used to be bothered a lot more by being ranked high preseason. While it's still not preferable, it doesn't bother me as much. It used to be because "we never play well when we're ranked high in preaseson" but now it's more bc I don't like having a target on our back.

With that said, the writer is correct about 1. Muschamp, 2. JJ and the QB position, and 3 our RBs. The other piece to the puzzle he didn't touch on is our schedule. Very favorable home schedule and the Chick Fil A Kickoff might as well be a home game for us.

We are going to land in the preseason top 15 most years just because of Gus, no matter what the team looks like.

We have to stick around the top 15 consistently to do that but I agree.

Doesn't hurt that you have Oregon DCs praising Gus out of left field at NC interviews

I feel like 11-15 is the proper place for this team.

A lot of Unkowns.

HBack, CB, DT, WR2 & RB are all huge question marks. We also have never seen Jeremy Johnson be looked at as the leader either

I like us getting the benefit of the doubt, but we're going to have to verify it to keep this type of thing up.
