No other coach even comes close to these two guys. Just elite. That was their 3rd string QB? Really?

That and a lot of head coaches are incompetent guys who ride their talent to 9-10 win seasons yearly.

I seriously think what Meyer did with this team and their QB issues was nothing short of astounding. The last three games of the year for them...good lord.

I don't think many people gave OSU much of a chance in the Sugar Bowl, and I certainly thought Saban would have that young QB running for his life. Even after the Bama win, I don't think many people gave OSU a chance against that seemingly unstoppable Oregon offense. I won't doubt Meyer again.

J Jefferson (4th year senior playing in his 32nd game) in the National Championship game: 11/17 53 YDS 0 TD 1 INT

C Jones (2nd year sophomore with 40 career passes and 2 starts) in the National Championship game: 16/23 242 YDS 1 TD 1 INT

That right there is the difference in coaching. That's it. Nothing else.

You'll hear nothing but crickets from the LSU side of the room. How it's possible for QBs to actually regress every year (save Mett) is an astounding phenomenon only achievable at LSU.

Coach? No...I would say it's more about the recruiting. Osu has 3 good qb's. Meyer couldn't coach jennings up. Jennings just isn't good.

Urban has been recruiting top talent, similar to Bama. Not surprised, he has recruited the south pretty darn well over the years too.

Saban is not a great coach. Meyer runs circles around him. He is a great recruiter.

I don't care how good your QB's are and they are all good, he did a remarkable job. That 3rd string guy still never started a game until 2 games ago and then he played Wisy, Bama, and now Oregon. Not to mention keeping his team confident and focused after loosing both your QB's. UM is much better than I gave him credit for.

Meyer could exceed saban if he keeps this up. The groundwork is set for him to have a pretty good run there at tOSU. He probably has 10+ good years left to win a few more. Saban will be calling it quits well before Myers.

He's pretty much already even with saban and he's like 12 years younger.

It helps being younger and being in a much easier league. Imagine if you could have Florida's talent pool (or at least dang close) without playing a Georgia, LSU, Alabama, Auburn, etc... Michigan, MSU and such are tough outs sometimes, but honestly the B1G is not the conference it used to be. OSU is in a PRIME spot (like FSU in the ACC back in the 90s - an easy 11+ win run, with only 1-2 games a year that are potential losses)

Pretty much this.....he really doesn't have anyone challenging him in the B1G right now...that is going to change next year with Michigan. The SEC is still a tougher gauntlet

Would be a more legit argument if Meyer hadn't already won two in the SEC.
