was Florida in 1996.

As hard as it is to believe, Ole Miss has a title.

Neither were coaches or AP. 1960 Minnesota was both coaches and AP national champs. 1964 Alabama was both AP and coaches champs.

Florida is correct. Also, FSU won their first title in 93.

yeah Ole Miss has one and '84 should be Washingtons as well...beating a 6-4 Mich team.

Again, the FWAA is great and all, but it doesn't stack up against the AP or coaches polls. Both polls selected the same champion in both years, and neither was Ole Miss or Arkansas.

I would have to assume that it matters mostly to teams that have won the FWAA but not any others.
