Athens is the mecca of southern tunage.

Also, what the frick is up with Zac brown covering Jason Isbell on the pre-game show. What a snake.

Allman Bros started in Jacksonville.

But seriously, GA runs this shite now.

You've been led astray, grasshopper.

Futurebirds, for example, isn't panic at the disco.

There's a lot of great indie-rock, alternative country coming from the south that draws from the classic sounds.

I don't think anyone would argue with you there. And I wouldn't put Allman Bros in the same category as those two. Also, Allman Bros first started in Nashville, as they were both born here and their grandparents lived here.

I also wouldn't really put Petty in the same category as Skynyrd either. Rock music that just happens to be from the South. Not Southern Rock

Well, that's not his argument. He's saying where the bands were from.

But yes, Muscle Shoals, Macon and Nashville were huge in the Southern Rock scene of the 70s

I can dig some Tom Petty. I prefer a lot of the older music over most new stuff. Just not Skynyrd and the like.
