This is cool. Baseball is my favorite sport. I don't follow Mizzou baseball, but it's looking like maybe I should hugh.

What are projections after getring into conference play for Mizzou?

I love baseball too and have been following a bit and it's their best start since I think the 80's but we have to keep in mind who we've played so far and the fact that the SEC is just brutal. Our pitching may keep us in many games but I'm still concerned about being able to score runs against SEC pitching.

Agreed. Pitching is a strength but the SEC will be rough. Expect a bottom third finish in league play.

No doubt bottom third in conference. I'm hoping to avoid last and maybe, just maybe we can make the SEC tourney. Top 12 to make that.

I have no idea As far as conference play. I know the SEC is rough though. I'm like you guys as far as outlook. NOT in last place would be nice.

Conference schedule:

@UGA(6-4): Good series for us to open up with on the road. UGA has shown to be vulnerable and it may tell us if this team is for real or just beating up on sisters of the poor. A winnable series from what I've seen/read.

SC(7-2): SC is good. We'll lose the series. But SC hasn't been so dominant that I don't think we can sneak a game from them.

@A&M(12-0): They haven't played much, but no one has. We'll probably lose the series. Again, try to take at least one game.

UF(10-1): UF came out swinging, but are coming down to earth a little bit. If we're for real, this is a winnable series at home. If we're not for real, well it could be ugly.

@UT(4-4): Another road series that is winnable.

Bama(7-4): At home, very winnable.

@Vandy(9-2): We'll lose. Try not to get swept.

OM(6-4): I would have chalked this up to a loss but OM has shown vulnerable and it's at home. I'd put it in the same category as UF.

@LSU(10-1): Avoid the sweep. LSW pitcher will throw for LSU.

UK(7-3): Another winnable series.

That's 4 winnable series(UGA/UT/Bama/UK) and 2 toss ups (UF/OM) and 4 just trying to avoid being swept (SC/A&M/Vandy/LSU). That could damn near put you at .500 in conference. That would be awesome. Time for me to wake up now.

A look at Milwaukee but some handpicked stats on the pitching.

Best in the SEC in: ERA(1.22), Opponent BA(.171), Hits/9(5.3), Runs Allowed(16), Walks Allowed(20), Complete Games(1), Saves(6), Shutouts(3).

Second nationally in ERA at 1.22, trailing only national leader Charlotte (0.84).

Leads the nation in WHIP and 3rd in hits/9.

2nd in the SEC and top 10 nationally in K/BB ratio at 4.15.

Pitching looked bad last night. Lost 7-4. Milwaukee has some hitters but still, be a huge disappointment if we lose this series.

Also picked up a game Tuesday night against Truman State to make up for some of the cancellations this past week.

Reality came crashing down this last weekend. Got swept by Milwaukee. No, not the Brewers. The Panthers version.

de Oca finally got an opportunity tonight against Truman State. Scoreless inning with 1 strikeout so far. Hit 98 on the gun.

Baseball ended up handling Truman State 10-2.

Up tonight 9-4 against SIU-E. Rash pitched 4 innings, giving up 1 ER.

looks like we'll still be without our Friday night ace who hurt his elbow a week or so ago.

Very interested to see how we stack up this weekend. We looked outstanding against FSU (could have EASILY swept, ended up taking 2 of 3) and have looked like hot garbage against some bad teams as well.

That sucks about your Friday night starter. Hopefully nothing too serious and he can get back at it. What year is he?

I took a look at y'all's schedule to see what you've done this year and saw just what you said. Saw some of the games against lesser talent and though, well Mizzou should have a good shot at the series. Then I saw the games against FSU and thought no, no shot.

Looks like it should be a good match up of 2 teams trying to establish themselves this year. I know for Mizzou, it will give us an indication of whether the record is improved because of "smarter scheduling" or if the team is actually improved.

Should be a good series though. Best of luck to your guys.

Mizzou takes game 1 from Georgia 5-1. McClain gave up 1 in the 1st then settled in to throw a complete game. Game was tied at 1 until Harris his a 3 run HR and Mr. .090 (Munson) hit a HR. I'm gonna have to ease up on Munson. I think he's up over .100 now.

Bond 3-5 in this second game. Had another HR. Not sure what he did in game 1 but came into the weekend leading the team in hitting.
