Multiple sources indicate Arkansas OC Jim Chaney is considering going to Pitt.

Don't get my hopes up man.
Not the day after Cleveland requested Roman to interview with them.

There seems to be something to Bo's Chaney tweet, more to come after I get out of church.

I would definitely say there is something to it. The fact that he's been linked to two jobs in 24 hours can't be a coincidence and he most likely is looking.

Pitt fans are very excited on twitter, poor bastards have no idea.
Our 247 board seems to think we lose KJ Hill if Chaney goes, and the reason behind Chaney leaving is because he wants to throw more and BB has said no, which was part of KJ's concern to begin with.

CSB time-
Woke up to my dog having ate one of my ink pins, spilled it all over himself, tracked ink paw prints all over the house and by his window he looks out of on the wall... I needed some good news to get me excited.

That and there are no reports of Bert trying to get him a new contract to prevent him from leaving.
That and when the new contracts were being dealt, Chaney wasn't a top priority.
I believe Chaney was only a 3 year plan for Bert to help transition from a passing offense to a run based offense via the QBs and WRs on campus that everyone in the world thought was there but wasn't.
So really, Bert is likely a year or two ahead in his plan to change the program's identity.

So if Chaney goes, what's our short list for OC?

Though I'm not a big Chaney fan,I do like the different looks his offense provides.
My biggest gripe is when our running game was popping,he'd start chunking it and go three and out.To me his biggest problem is patience,he wants to move quick when what we need is sustained drives.
I'd be interested to see how this works with better receivers though.
My biggest fear is going back to the predictable three downs and a cloud of dust offense we suffered through for years.
I want to see a "smart" balance.

I love the multiple looks Chaney gives. By far my favorite thing in his offense. I am just not a fan of his play calling flow or passing schemes.
What I would really like to see from him or someone else is more pre-snap motion. That was a staple of Bielema's offenses at Wisconsin that has not transitioned to here.

I am going to be brutally honest here and probably be slapped around for it...
But one thing different here than some other places is that we can offer our opinions without being scorned completely, thus far. So, here it goes...
I like Chaneys formations, and what we could possibly be in the future with better talent.
Some of you want him gone at what seems to be "all costs". If we lose out on Hill, and some other playmakers because he is gone, I hope he stays. My fear is simple. We are building, we do not need to have this stymied a bit because of anything.

I've heard this logic before.
Only it was "we can't fire Pel and risk losing this class".
Reality was, we can fired Pel and wished we never signed that class, it was terrible.

Getting a better OC who doesn't constantly shite the bed >>>>>>>>>>>> losing a few players
