Let's go with the last 5 classes who are now in the NFL or about to be (2008-2012). I'm using Rivals rankings. It's easy to see why certain big name programs have struggled lately....lots of busts and discipline problems.

Alabama:
Julio Jones 08: boom (NFL all-pro and college star)
BJ Scott 08: total bust-did nothing in college
Tyler Love 08: total bust-did nothing in college
DJ Fluker 09: boom (college star and 1st rounder)
Trent Richardson 09: boom (college star and 1st rounder)
Dre Kirkpatrick 09: boom (college star and 1st rounder)
Nico Johnson 09: somewhat boom (solid college starter, 4th rnd draft pick)
DeMarcus Milliner 10: boom (college star, 1st rounder)
Cyrus Kouandjio 11: slight boom (college star, 2nd rounder)-although did not live up to hype
Ha Ha Clinton-Dix 11: boom (college star, 1st rounder)
Dee Hart 11: bust(transferred, doing well at Colorado St)
TJ Yeldon 12: boom (college star, 2nd or 3rd rounder)
Landon Collins 12: boom (college star, 1st rounder)
Eddie Williams 12: total bust due to arrest and expulsion

Auburn:
Michael Dyer 10: bust (solid freshman year, got in trouble, likely undrafted)
Shon Coleman 10: undetermined (got cancer, but now somewhat making a comeback)
Kris Frost 11: undetermined (solid starter, got a late round grade and returning senior year)

LSU:
Patrick Peterson 08: boom (college and NFL All-pro)
Rueben Randle 09:boom (college star, 2nd rounder)
Russel Shepard 09: total bust
Craig Loston 09: bust, solid starter late in career (undrafted)
Chris Davenport 09: bust-transferred to Tulane
Spencer Ware 10: mostly bust (decent college career, 6th rounder and then released)
Lael Collins 11: boom (college star, projected 1st or 2nd rounder)
Anthony "Freak" Johnson 11: bust (started 1 year, undrafted)
Jarvis Landry 11: boom (college star, 2nd round)

Arkansas:
Darius Winston 09: bust-average college player, undrafted

Texas A&M:
Christine Michael 09: boom-college star, 2nd rounder
Trey Williams 12: undetermined: nothing special so far, in and out of the starting lineup

Ole Miss:
CJ Johnson 11: somewhat boom: solid starter, likely 4th rounder -similar to Nico Johnson

Mississippi State: none

Florida:
Will Hill 08: bust undrafted
Omar Hunter 08: bust undrafted
Matt Patchan 08: bust transferred to BC, undrafted
Jelani Jenkins 09: somewhat boom, solid starter 4th rounder
Andre Debose 09: mostly bust, played a lot but likely undrafted
Gary Brown 09: bust, kicked off team
Ronald Powell 10: somewhat boom, solid starter, 5th rounder
Shariff Floyd 10: boom (college star, 1st rounder)
Domanique Easley 10: boom (college star, 1st rounder)
Matt Elam 10: boom (college star, 1st rounder)
DJ Humphries 12: somewhat boom, solid starter, declared early and likely mid round
Jonathan Bullard 12: undetermined: solid starter, returning senior year
Dante Fowler Jr 12: boom-college star, likely 1st rounder

Georgia:
AJ Green 08: boom, NFL all pro, college star
Richard Samuel 08: bust
Branden Smith 09: bust, average college career, likely undrafted
Ray Drew 11: bust: average college career, likely undrafted
Isiah Crowell 11: bust: good freshman year then got in trouble, undrafted (see Mike Dyer)
John Theus 12: undetermined, solid starter so far
Josh Harvey-Clemons 12: bust: got in trouble and transferred to Louisville

Tennessee:
Bryce Brown 09: bust: former #1 overall recruit, transferred, 7th rounder
Janzen Jackson 09: bust, solid freshman year then kicked off, undrafted
Darick Rogers 10: bust, solid player but got in trouble, undrafted.

Missouri:
Blaine Gabbert 08: boom, college star, 1st rounder
Sheldon Richardson 09: boom, college star, 1st rounder
Dorial Green-Beckham 12: mostly bust/somewhat boom: great player with awesome sophomore year, kicked off and likely 3rd-4th rounder

Marcus Lattimore 10: boom: elite college star with unlucky injuries. 4th round
Jadeveon Clowney 11: boom: college star and #1 pick

Kentucky: none

Vandy: none

I think it's too early to call Coleman a bust.

NOT saying that he's a bust but Chris Jones this past season was less than stellar. If he can lose some weight though he'll reach his potential.

Alright, I will switch him to undetermined. He was supposed to start 2014, but didn't. Is 2015 his last year?

Dyer had two 1000 yard seasons, won a BCSNC MVP and an SEC championship. Did he screw up his last two years? Sure, but not a bust.\

Shon Coleman just completed his first season back from cancer. How the frick is that a bust?

Kris Frost is not a bust since he will be drafted next year

I understand it was probably time consuming and mind numbing to try and put this together, but you are dead wrong on this one. He's been an excellent player and he'll go in the top 3 rounds.

Class of 2013. I did not include them because they are not pro-eligible yet.

Will Hill was decent at Florida and starts for the Ravens.

He wasn't the top 5 player coming out at Florida like he was expected to be but not sure I'd call him a total bust

And wasn't Micah Johnson a five star coming out for Kentucky?

See Isaiah Crowell. Dyer was a very good tailback, but he likely won't even get drafted. I can't call a 5 star recruit who goes undrafted anything but a bust. If he had rebounded his career at Louisville and gets drafted in the 3rd -4th round I could call him a boom.

I did not mean bust in a "mean" way. I hate he got cancer, but it's like any other injury that prevents you from playing. If you can't play you can't live up to 5 star hype. I switched him from bust to undetermined since he still has eligibility left.

I would call Trent Richardson a bust at this point. Great college career but NFL work aint gonna last very long and then he will have to depend on that Bama education he got...

Help me out here. He has been a decent college player, not a star....injured a lot. Every draft projection I see has him 7th-FA.

I think he still has three years left but i may be off by one year.

And i do see where you are coming from with Dyer. His career has been a disappointment, but its hard to shrug off two 1000 yard seasons and an BCSCG MVP. IMO, if he finished out his career at Auburn he would have been a top three round draft pick, but he screwed that up.

We're only talking about college here. In college he was the man.
