Yep, time to talk some more UAB!

Apparently, UAT's puppet is having second thoughts, 6 days before a scheduled hearing where he may lose his job.

quote:

Now Ray Watts wants a second opinion?

quote:

Watts also said this Friday: "An independent financial review is needed to verify the credibility of the numbers."

Watts and credibility in the same sentence. It hardly seems fair. Shouldn't the credibility of the numbers have been verified before he killed the programs? Does he have no shame?

Watts made it clear he didn't call Friday's press conference, conveniently scheduled six days before the faculty senate vote on the no-confidence resolution against him, to apologize or express regret at the slipshod and shameful approach he took to killing the three sports in the first place.

Raising "a glimmer of hope," as state Sen. Jabo Waggoner called it, that football might be reinstated - although not until after the still-dead 2015 season - is almost as bad as pulling the plug in the first place. Watts now has the option to kill football a second time, based on another set of numbers.

Whom is UA's(the T just loses a good deal of credibility and makes it look agenda driven) puppet? I get these theories mixed up. I thought it was Bryant jr that was the evil villain.

They're losing millions along with a number of other mid-majors.It's a horrible business model with no long term plan for any type success.

If they want to bring back FB, FCS or Div II is their only viable option

I'm betting that after the independent financial review is complete and it stills shows the projected losses, you fools will claim that the whole thing was rigged....any takers?

Wonder if they looked at those options before FB was killed.

sonic... miami gardens or ft lauderdale, i can be there in 5 hours i think the biggest tragedies are the loss of the rifle team or women's bowling.

How about Tootsies since you are coming this far? We can look at some teets after the throwdown.

This. The faculty are not overly endeared with the football program. They really dislike the President, from his changes to their benefits to the talk about shutting down or watering down the Honor's Program.

Some of the Department heads at UAB are concerned about the ramifications of a no confidence vote, mainly because the vote is symbolic and if UA BoT does not act on it, it may further poison the well. Most faculty leaders want to maintain smooth relations with UA but this is shaping up to be rough waters no matter what happens.

Revival implies it was alive in the first place.

I am probably the lone non-gump that sees why the football program was dumped. UAB is like a female gold digger that complains about abuse, but refuses to leave because the cash is too good.
