70s for the classic rock
90s for the alt rock, and cash money rap

60s
10s
The last one is going to seem crazy, but there is a lot of good music out there if you have a connect to the Internet. More options than ever, but the crap on the radio is still mostly that.

60's and 70's, easily
The amount of great music just in 1968-69 is staggering!
I would rank them as follows:
7. 50's (not a huge rockabilly or Elvis fan, but there was some great Jazz music. Look up "Moanin'")
6. 10's (hasn't delivered for me yet, but there have only been 4 years worth of music for me to judge this decade. It could very well move up the list)
5. 00's (I love late 90s/early 2000s pop rock and I am not ashamed of it. ok, maybe a little )
4. 80's (pop sucked, hair metal was pretty dumb, but metal was pretty solid)
3. 90's (so much variety from grunge to dave Matthews to Greenday. just a weird decade for music that delivered some fun music)
2. 60's (The Beatles, James Brown, Jimi Hendrix, Rolling Stones, Zeppelin, The Monkeys, folk, hard rock, motown, soul, ect all exploded out of this decade)
1. 70's (Zeppelin's hayday, great hard rock, birth of metal, funk, ect. What more do you need?)

The 90s made rap happen, alt rock, and Justin Timberlake happen. The 90s are a perfectly legitimate choice in my book.
I think the obvious choice for worst is the 00s. Terrible pop. Country got super popified. Rap became a characatur of its 90s self. Thankfully the internet has saved us from that downhill slide. Eat a buffet of dicks record companies.

late 60s has some killer music. Duke is also on the money with radio not doing the 10s justice.

agreed the 00s weren't a good time. almost all music moved into pop and radio helped kill it. Also saw the demise of the music video.
the 90s had some killer music videos and mtv had a great balance with music and a few other shows.
Im looking into getting a new record player with a usb adapter. I forgot how awesome records sound until new years day. We found a shite ton of records that my mom was hoarding

Saddest day ever.
I remember coming home from school every day to watch TRL and then staying up late at night to watch music videos.

The music I grew up with
The music my parents grew up with
The music the kids are listening to today
