Had the playoff been in place, the SEC streak wouldn't have happened

LSU 2007 would have definitely lost and a few other teams probably lose too. It's a shame but now we get to see true champions from now on.

It's almost inevitable one of the 7 SEC winners would have tripped up in a game.

Winning 2 big time games against big time opponents is obviously a hell of a lot harder than just 1.

But college football changes, I mean they've gone from awarding national titles before bowl games, to after bowl games, to having a 1v2 championship game, to now having a playoff.

You just win the system you're in at the time.

No sense in looking backwards.

For sure.

We only beat 7 ranked teams that year.

It's true that playing 2 games is harder than 1. But it's like that on both sides of the bracket. Could have also made some of the NCs easier for the SEC.

UGA was playing the best at the end but I don't think they were in the top 4 so we still win.

Funny. LSU finished #2 in the final polls and beat the #3 team (Virginia Tech) by 34 earlier in the year. They beat the the #1 team (Ohio State) by 2 touchdowns in the BCS champ game. Technically LSU had to beat both those teams, while winning the SECW and the SEC. Something Bama didn't have to do for one of theirs.
