The sky is falling from alot of Bama fans because of 12-2 season and SEC champs..

Wow.. Our only bad seasons are
12-2
10-3
11-2
12-2

and Saban's first year at 7-6

What a run fellas!

Where are these fans that you speak of?? A lot of that is perpetuated by non-Bama fans on tRant due to jealously and them wanting the sky to be falling on Saban and Bama.

It's all envy. Most teams that go 12-2 (and for that matter win the SEC) call it a pretty damn good year.

There is no decline. How is going from not winning anything in 2013 to winning the SEC in 2014 with a new QB an all? Again, it's just what the morons on the rant say

Maybe a few but I'm not seeing it. And those would be shitty fans that weren't around or never made a peep during the dark times.

I think most of us are voicing some unease about PLAGUING issues.

Maybe I should have been more specific.. these are fans I work with... It is just funny to me..
It is NC or bust... expectations are unreal...

At the beginning of the year, thought we'd lose 2, maybe 3, games during the regular season. If you'd told me we'd go 12-2 and win the SEC, I'd have taken it. Think we overachieved, as Sims surpassed all my expectations in what he achieved this year at QB...

That being said, while I don't see us in decline, I do think we have defensive issues to address if we're gonna challenge for the CFP the next few years. While we have talent through the roof on D, we're gonna have to do something different to adapt to the spread as we're still very vulnerable to it. Maybe not wholesale changes, but at least some pretty significant tweaks...

IMO we lost to OSU because of the Secondary...
we should have run man to man the whole game..

Yeah, if a decline consists of beating your rivals, winning the SEC, and making it to the CFB Playoff, then sign me up.

Having said that, I do think the next few seasons are going to be interesting. We're going to face some big challenges.

I agree...we may have still lost, but there's no way those OSU WRs could have been any more wide open when we were playing zone on 3rd and long...

I love the defenses that Saban/Smart have fielded in past years, but I wonder why we haven't mimicked some of LSU's schemes against spread offenses the past few years as there should be plenty of tape. Chavis wasn't perfect against the spread by any stretch, but he's had more success against it than most. On the other hand, maybe our scheme's good but just too complex for many of our players to comprehend/execute at a high level???

I hear ya. Some "fans" are just annoying and/or insane. I had a so-called Bama fan at work tell me a few years back that they were so glad we hired Mike Saban

sure blame them, i don't recollect them giving the other team the ball 3 fricking times. in fact i recollect our secondary picking one off and causing and recovering their other turnover.

Yeah, it was a team loss, no doubt.

More like twice...the 3rd turnover was on a Hail Mary on the last play of the game...

I agree it was a team loss, as 3rd down killed us on both sides of the ball. But I do think the defense was a bit more off their game than the offense was, at least numbers-wise...

This is just my opinion..

How many 3rd and longs did we give up to the middle of the field for 15-20 + yards...

My point is if we stop them from driving the offense get's more chances to score..

It is though. Once we saw what the team was capable of it was pretty much NC or bust. And I'm sure that is exactly how the players felt too.

As a fan, I expected a NC after a certain point during the season. It was my opinion that the team was absolutely the best team...even with their weaknesses this year(Not sure of this now though seeing as Oregon might be crazy good). But football is a crazy sport. There is/was TONS of room for my non professional opinion to be wrong AND anything can happen in a game of football.

I couldn't have had more fun this year watching the guys do their thing. Went to the Sugar Bowl and had the time of my life. Not even remotely close to upset and am proud of everybody on the team. I can still have the opinion that Alabama probably maybe should have won without being a greedy delusional prick.

As for the spoiled stuff, I don't really see it. The mass of Alabama fans walking out of the stadium after the game were almost 100% in GREAT spirits. Most laughing and cutting up with each other talking about how fun the season was. A drunk girl tried to start a "lets go Oregon chant" and got shut down by everybody within shouting distance of her. I haven't seen much butthurt at all.

I don't want to take ANYTHING away from what OSU did in that game, so I won't. To me, the game was lost during the stretch where OSU kept getting backed up on their goal line.

If I remember correctly, during that stretch, Alabama finally took back momentum and OSU was in a world of hurt. Alabama players were dancing around, OSU couldn't move the ball an inch, and UM was losing his mind. Alabama HAD to get points here and didn't.

The play to Howard, oh my dear lord that play. I'd bet my life that Sims could make that pass 5/10 times if he punted it to Howard. That's how wide open he was. The guy who intercepted it had to make up soooooo much ground but was able to because Sims didn't get the ball out. Howard was 6 steps ahead of him. It was the easiest pitch and catch you could ever ask for.

I know OSU scored 42 points and there were huge plays given up by the defense but I really think the offense lost the game. The offensive gameplan and parts of the execution were absolutely mind blowing to me.

Someone help me out here.

Other than the fantastic TD catch and run against LSU in Tuscaloosa...what other "big" plays involve OJ?

The only ones coming to mind are not positive for UA.

I don't want to pile on the young man, but I'm drawing a blank here.
