And I think that was a crazy OT game vs the Magic where they made a near half-court shot as time ran out. We win that game and we'd be playing for our 25th in a row I think.

I think the Bucks beat us to end the first run, but we did lose to Orlando the 2nd game of a 2 night matchup IIRC. Tough to beat anyone twice in a row like that

The other loss to Milwaukee was on the first night of a 2 night match up. shite that actually is kind of bad news as far as playoffs are concerned. It's probably a coincidence (especially since we lost to Milwaukee the first night) but both losses of this streak are against teams we played twice in a row.

Still no respect, the rap is now that they can't win in the playoffs because of the lack of bigs.

I wouldn't trade them for any team and wouldn't make a trade to upset the balance and chemistry. Let's see how she plays out.

Schroder is like lighting in a bottle, he is just a flash, like chasing smoke.

The playoffs are the playoffs. This is the regular season. They are completely different entities. People should stop looking ahead and enjoy the moment.

Dark horse ROY contender Jusuf Nurkic was drafted a spot behind Adreian Payne. Would have been great to have him as frontcourt depth this year and the future

Payne is developing and getting valuable playing time in the D-L. We didn't really need him this year anyways. He's a 12 point, 8 rebound guy with a high shooting and FT percentage and can play hella good defense. He will eventually become an Al Horford clone, except better rebounder and likely averaging a few more ppg.

But he's going the Schroeder route and soaking up some actual play time rather than hanging out on our bench behind Horford and Antic. And he may actually be better than Antic already, but he doesn't have the discipline and passing abilities just yet. He'll be playing next year and likely starting 2 or 3 years from now.

Don't forget also that we get the Nets pick this year and they are awful. There's a very good chance they will be a bottom 7 team and have a very good chance at a top-3 lottery pick.

It's crazy to think, but the Hawks actually have a chance at winning the championship AND ending up with the #1 overall pick.

Horford averages 15.3 ppg, 6.8 rpg, 3.3 apg, and 30.5 minutes.

At Michigan St. Payne was averaging 16.4 ppg, 7.8 rpg, 1.7 apg, in 28.06 minutes. Along with 61% FG% and 88% FT%. He also had 1 game where he scored 41 and two where he scored 35 points. He also had a game where he scored 17 for 17 on free throws, setting an NCAAB record.

And down in the D-L he's averaging 13.7 ppg, 10.3 rpg, 3.3 apg, and 30.8 minutes. He's also got a 52% FG% and a 82% FT%.

Al Horford in college at Florida averaged 13.2 ppg, 7.9 rpg, 2.2 apg, and 27.8 minutes. He also had a 60% FG% and a 64% FT% (compared to Payne's 61%/88%).

They're both 6'10" 250 lbs, except Payne has a 70" wingspan and Horford has a 68" wingspan.

I don't know what to tell ya, bub, but they drafted Payne to be the next Horford.

I was pretty enthused when they drafted the guy.

Horford was also playing with 4 other really good players. I actually like Payne a lot, but there is a reason he isn't getting playing time right now and to say he'll be better than Horford is pretty ludicrous.

He has better college stats than Horford at the exact same position, size, and even playing in a better basketball conference, but its somehow "ludicrous" that he could turn out better by the time he's 7 years in the league?

You have ZERO basis for that statement. None. I'm at least comparing them using actual facts.

Why can't Payne turn out better? Give a valid reason why it's "ludicrous".

I guess Doug McDermott is gonna be the MVP soon, then. College stats are not transferable like that. As stated, horford played on the best team in the country with 2 other lottery picks. He was drafted 3rd overall.

I like adreian Payne well enough, but he is NOT going to be al horford. You are setting yourself up for disappointment. 5 years ago, al horford was a high level nba center. At that same age, adreian Payne cannot even get minutes over a 34 year old Elton brand and mike musicala. There is literally nothing to suggest that Payne is going to score as much as horford and be a better rebounder. You might be the only person on the planet who thinks that.

I dont think to statement it ludicrous but by making this statement

quote:

He has better college stats than Horford

You're basically saying everything from college translates and there has never been a star in college that didn't succeed in the pros. College stats don't matter in the NBA

Sixers tomorrow...trap game. I feel like a lot of these win streaks are broken by awful teams.

If we win that...@Pels, @Wiz, Warriors...gonna be tough. These guys continue to impress though

Payne will be a little bit better overall in rebounding but Horford is a great player already in the NBA so it's hard to compare them. I do think Payne will be a very workman (Milsap) type player in the league. He will give valuable minutes and be good defensively and rebounding but I don't see his offensive game being as well rounded as Horford.
