I just heard the announcer in the Memphis Toronto game give the Raptors props by saying they were the only team which had beaten the Hawks twice.

Now we are a measurable for excellence in the NBA.

Who would have thunk it.

Man, I like this team.

I'll be honest, I only follow the Hawks when they're doing well, probably like most in Atlanta. I'd be interested to hear opinions on why they're doing so well this year? They have a team made up mostly of nobodys. Prior to this year, none of them had star-status, with the exception of maybe Al Horford. Now their the hottest team in the NBA. Is it the system they play in? Is it something magical the coach is doing? I'm curious to hear everyone's opinions.

There are plenty of articles out there from more technically advanced viewers than me, but I think it boils down to a few things:
1. Coach Budenholzer is a wizard
2. His free-flowing pass first whip it around offense works great with our roster, which contains shooters at every position
3. Unselfish team that actually enjoys playing together and tries hard on defense
We will see how our play translates to a slowed down grind-it-out playoff series, but I am full on DisneyHawk

Would like to think it's the "team play" concept that Coach Bud brought from San Antonio. That said, he was here last year (granted it was his first season) and we won 38 games all year. Amazing that we'll hit that total with just three more wins this season.

I think this is the most crucial piece. They are the very definition of the word "team"; it is incredibly fun to watch them play together and watching the players on the bench react and cheer as well.

Also, watching the game last night one announcer said something to the effect of "he is playing like it is a 1 point game" when we were up by 25+ points in regards to how tough we were fighting and playing defense. Good stuff.

But they took the #1 seed Pacers to 7 games in the first round of the playoffs. This team was beginning to find itself last year.

I just hope they don't pull a 1990's-early 2000's Braves and become perennial bridesmaids

Elton Brand was on 680 the other day & said the team (coaches included) eat all their meals together, go to movies together, shop together etc. while on the road...

Big game tonight against the Thunder for two reasons:
1. Chance to set a franchise record with 15 consecutive victories
2. Prove our mettle against one of the perennial West contenders who have won 4 in a row and are fully healthy

Agreed. The 15 game streak is really irrelevant. Winning this game reinforces legitimacy in the playoffs and possible championship contention.

This is the biggest game of the season thus far I think.

League pass is free this week if DISH offers it. May be blacked out in the ATL area I'm not sure how it works for that.

So I missed the entire first half but with the turnovers and the bad shooting to be leading at the half is very encouraging
