As a smokescreen to keep the heat off themselves?
Sumlin let a few go, Mason did too, and Gus did what Gus does.
I wish Bert would upgrade the offensive assistants instead of keeping guys.

Arkansas keeping Jim Chaney makes me happy.

First time is the solution to a problem. The 2nd time you have to do it it's more about taking heat off of yourself, IMO.

chaney- he's the source of much ire.
personally, i don't hate the guy and think we could do worse but he does go full you know at times.

Doesn't Bert control most of the offensive philosophy and personnel decisions?

We can't all have OCs or HCs that call awesome double pass trick plays in crucial moments.

Well the bowl game seemed as though he told Chaney to shore some shite up and I hope it carries over but no, usually Chaney is an idiot. It's like he panics and calls more passes than needed.

Bert better learn how to do this or his seat is gonna get awfully hot next year.

Sumlin demoted the OC last year and fired the OL & DC this year. He has had multiple assists get promoted to coordinator, coordinators get promoted to HC, and even an assistant get promoted to HC at a power 5.

No
Who should be fired this year? You can make an argument for Chaney but not happening after an improvement.

How he keeps a job is simply amazing.

Les rarely, if ever, fires anyone.
He makes sure they get jobs elsewhere and allows them to leave on their own accord so it doesn't look like they've been fired.

Who besides our DC did sumlin fire?
Our assistant coaches are being poached every single year.
