Dawgs up 2-1 in the Bot 5 in Game 3. Need to salvage something from this road trip. All things considered, it's not a bad early season trip to go to Statesboro in the rain and lose by 1 run each in two games and win the 3rd.

Which is shameful. All 3 games have been close but come the frick on. At least take 1 fricking game.
This series won't spell doom for this team by any means, but it's not inspiring confidence in me for our future SEC slate if we're going to get swept on the road against a team that lost to North Florida last week.

It's never as good as it seems, and it's never as bad as it seems.
We eaaaasily could have swept FSU. Now we're getting swept by southern. Reality is we're probably somewhere in the middle. I don't think this series alone will be the downfall of our season. We have good enough pitching to keep us in every series. Just gotta get the bats going again.

Which is why I don't think this is a bad series. Right now, we're poised to lose all 3 games by 1 run apiece. That's not bad, just unfortunate. If anything, this team needs to get better at putting the ball in play with RISP. Otherwise, giving up anywhere from 0-4 runs a game isn't above average, especially given the new baseballs and bats being used.
It's just frustrating potentially losing 3 winnable games on the road this early in the season.
ETA: What's going to possibly suck about this is that Southern will go on to play pretty mediocre all year. They play Tech and UGA like it's game fricking 7 of the world series.

Bottom of the 8th, now. Dawgs will have 3 more outs to play catch up but not unless we quiet the Southern bats first.

A sweep here sounds a lot worse than it is. Rainy and cold conditions, on the road against a decent team, and every game was decided by 1 run. Just a shitty outcome that could have gone either way with a few breaks here or there.
