Thanks for the updates Durden, much appreciated

Cocks tie it 2-2 with a run in the bottom of the 2nd. Dawgs haven't been able to get a lot going since the 1st, now in the top of the 3rd. Mancuso may not last much longer and we probably need him to get at least 4 innings today.

Cocks score another run in the 3rd, now lead 3-2 in the 4th. This is the first time Carolina has led all series IIRC.

Now 18-11, 5-4 on the year. Beat Tech in Athens on Tuesday and take the series against Vandy at home next weekend and we could be looking at 21-12, 7-5 and in good shape for a postseason bid at this point in the season.

Encouraging post on Scout by a Dawg baseball insider...

UGA went from dead last in the SEC in HR's last season, to first this season.
That isn't due to the personnel being different, it's due to the personnel being improved physically...
Stricklin brought his own S&C guy with him in Ryan Gearhart and if you talk to anyone who has been around the team, they will tell you that his workouts are night and day different...
Stricklin REALLY emphasizes S&C and competing while you do it. We're a bigger and stronger baseball team because of the improvements he's made in this area.

This team (even during the maddening losses to Mercer) is fun to watch primarily because just about the whole lineup can go yard. With regular power guys like Bowers, Nichols, and Kieboom in the lineup with speedsters like Wrenn, Weber, Bell, and King, it really is a good group of bats. Strike out a little too much for my liking, but they're also young so they'll work it out.
Our biggest issue right now is pitching and a lot of that can be chalked up to injuries. Once we get Tyler and Sosebee back in April, things should even out in the bullpen and during the week. We're having to start a lot of guys that really just aren't ready or have no business starting right now due to the fact that McLaughlin and Walsh are having to pitch the weekends

Yeah, we need a win Tuesday. Can't start 1-6 vs. the rest of the state. It's clear we're a good team, but we aren't the least bit consistent.

Losing to southern was just shite luck against a good program out for blood. Losing to mercer was entirely because of poor pitching

is tech any good this year
Posted on 3/31/15 at 11:02 am to WG_Dawg
Tech is 2-0 vs Ga Southern and 1-0 vs Kennesaw (the only common opponents)
Overall they're 17-10 (5-7 ACC) and just got swept by Louisville

Yeah, they're kind of comparable to us, maybe slightly better at this point. Should be close tonight.

Get ready for a long night, fellas. The freshman Avidano is pitching for us. Just threw 6 straight balls to start the inning.
