I haven't watched them this year (saw few minutes of one game, but not a good look). They just struggled against a mediocre Yale team, so I think it is a winnable road game.

You have AU 7-5 in this thread but 8-5 in the other. Make up your mind.

Yale's RPI is 65 with a couple top 100 RPI wins and a good 6 pt road loss to RPI 25 Providence. I wouldn't call them "mediocre"

Vandy also is a shooting team and they went Siberia cold that game. Dare I say Auburn shooting cold

E,

It is fixed

Vandy typically destroys AU there even when they are not good plus they are the 2nd biggest team in the SEC so I would not say that's a winnable game. Vandy has a very good home court advantage. We'll have to play better than we did against Xavier to beat them.

Vandy is a really young team and has a huge turnover problem. We seem to force a ton of turnovers and are frustrating inthe halfcourt D

The biggest question mark will be how Bowers and Reed will be able to hold up against Jones. Jones will just obliterate us if one of the two don't step up and play defense.

If Tahj and KC can keep playing aggresive D, we should be fine against LaChance and his sharpshooting.

Othe rthan Jones they are very undersized at the 4 spot and have really no one in the 3

Not really. They're both wrong. Even though NCAA only uses D1 games in it's RPI the game against D2 UNA does count in the AU record books. LINK

We are here to make (and then win) the NCAA tournament not talk about Exhibition games that don't factor in

I don't have a good feeling. Vandy is long and shoots the ball very well. We are going to have to force a lot of turnovers and obviously shoot well to have a chance.

As respectfully as I can say it, Coach Pearl knows more than you or I and he said at his presser today that Vandy is the 2nd biggest team in the SEC behind Kentucky.

Were you responding to me? I never said that Vandy wasn't a top team

I just pointed out some weaknesses that their writers brought up: Turnovers, Youth, Size at 4, Lack of a 3/Wing play. They aren't elite rebounding either

They win their games by lights out shooting and Jones dominating. For a CBB team, that will win you a ton of games and put you in the tournament.

Porous defense, weak rebounding, but can shoot the lights out.... that pretty much sums up Kevin Stallings' teams at Vandy (or every VU ye for that matter).

In that funky gym, they are hard to beat.

Not this year brotha. Realistic tourneys this year are the 1. NIT. We have to go a minimum of 11-7 in the SEC to make so that will be tough. and 2. CBI The Only requirement to be eligible there is be within 2 games of .500 overall and they will not discredit the UNA win. That's much easier as at worst we would have to go 7-11 at minimum but more likely 8-10. Outside of the NCAA tourney the UNA is counted. Heck the NCAA counts it on their conference standings page. Yes. You replied to my post saying they were the 2nd biggest team by saying they were not big in areas. Then I repeated my statement again saying Pearl was the Source of the statement. In other words, listen to the coach, not the writers.

I just reread my comment and it definitely comes across as "we should win" which I didn't intend nor believe sorry E

I just meant the battles we have to win to give us a shot is forcing turnovers, guarding LaChance and Jones and size

They are a very good team but while extremely strong in some areas, they do have some issues (like all teams). Hopefully we can take advantage
