"squelch" is a sound piglets make when feeding, or it can be like when you try to cut-back on radio background noise too I suppose.
"welch" or "welsh" is a disparaging term used for those who do not pay their bets ... which people in Wales were/are well-known for doing thus there are very few bookies willing to take bets in Wales or from the Prince of Wales, especially now that he's a pedophile.

Damn y'all..I'm hungover like a mofo. Cut me some slack. Dilaudid does weird shite to me. And at least I have clothes on and am not bragging about my escapades of giving oral sex to a guy on a first date a'la another poster we all know and love. So welch, welch, welch, welch.
