Seen a ton of Ween shows, and we're probably thinking about the same show at the 40watt. Always a great concert.

Actually going to see the Dean Ween Group next month.

Santana - Soul Sacrifice at Woodstock
quote:

We got to Woodstock at eleven in the morning. We’d heard it was a disaster area. They flew us in on a helicopter. We hung around with Jerry Garcia and we found out that we didn’t have to go on until eight at night. They told us just to cool out and take it easy. One thing led to another. I wanted to take some mescaline. Just at the point that I was peaking, this guy came over and said, “Look, if you don’t go on right now, you guys are not going to play.” I went out there and I saw this ocean as far as I could see. An ocean of flesh and hair and teeth and hands. I just played.
quote:

It was beyond scary, especially because I was at the peak of acid. I said, “God, please help me stay in tune. Please help me stay in time. I promise I'll never touch this stuff again." Of course, I lied [laughs].

Pretty sure it's just part of the process. A rite of passage if you will

Don't wanna end up like this guy:

A case of persistent visual hallucinations of faces following LSD abuse: a functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging study.Iaria G1, Fox CJ, Scheel M, Stowe RM, Barton JJ. Neurocase. 2010 Apr;16(2):106-18. doi: 10.1080/13554790903329141. Epub 2009 Nov 18.

Abstract
In this study, we report the case of a patient experiencing hallucinations of faces that could be reliably precipitated by looking at trees. Using functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI), we found that face hallucinations were associated with increased and decreased neural activity in a number of cortical regions. Within the same fusiform face area, however, we found significant decreased and increased neural activity according to whether the patient was experiencing hallucinations or veridical perception of faces, respectively. These findings may indicate key differences in how hallucinatory and veridical perceptions lead to the same phenomenological experience of seeing faces.

One of my favorite live drum performances, partly because that kid was only about 19 years old and had never even played in front a big audience.

JJ Cale wrote and performed it. Before Coked Out Clapton covered it.

The original is linked.

Who else has had more of their songs covered by big time bands? Call Me the Breeze, Cocaine, After Midnight, I Got The Same Old Blues, and several others. Pretty impressive.
