According to Rusty and Gentry, keep an eye on record setting OC Tyson Helton from WKU. His name is gaining steam. He is a fast rising up and comer.

Roper, Helton, Bloomgren seem to be the three clubhouse leaders at this time.

I think we could do well with any of the three. OC hire isn't like a DC hire. Pieces are already there as is the majority of the coaching staff. We're hiring for someone to a.) call a balanced attack, and b.) be very good at coaching QBs or OL. Emphasis on that second one.

Nor do I. It is so incredibly shortsighted to focus on his one year at UF. I think he is the best of the spread/pro style world. Add Richt in with a Cutcliffe disciple and we could have us a nice QB coach set up.

why are you folks so negative about who the next OC is? most of you know I'm not a Richt fan, but I'm sure whoever he hires will learn and call the playbook the way Richt wants it done.

I'd be happy with either Bloomgren or Roper. Tell me more about Helton...

It's going to be someone who's probably never going to be mentioned on this board. That's just how these things seem to work.

Helton's the one from WKU? I don't think we have the kind of QB to run his offense.

Tyson Helton is the OC at Western Kentucky and set a bunch of records up there during his first season this year. I'd say he's probably the longest shot of the three, but he does have an intriguing resume and is from the South. Plus, fun fact, Helton's dad was Richt's QB coach at Miami.

$1.6M for Smart. Pruitt's just a smokescreen.

He might've meant one that can complete a forward pass with some consistency.
