I would like to start with once again saying congratulations to the first winner & PFL Champion ... RULES! You did a helluva job man ... well deserved! Secondly, congratulations to the winners of the Bowl match-ups, and also thank you to all who participated on New Years day ... it was fun ... even though retooc beat my arse in the Siesta bowl!

This idea of the PFL came to me rather suddenly, and I wasn't sure if it would ever get off the ground. It was slow to start off, but as more of you displayed some interest and signed on ... it began to walk on it's own. I appreciate all of you who decided to give it a shot, even the ones who for some reason or another, decided to not show up about halfway through the season. Without you guys there never would have been a PFL Pick EM. Thank you!

Now, moving forward ... I hope to host this Pick Em again next year, that is ... if the interest is there from the members of this board. I will be looking at the overall format, and see if improvements can be made to make it better and more fun to the participants. I kinda threw this thing together post haste and had to make adjustments here and there as I went along. Overall, I think we wound up with a pretty solid format, it may need a few tweaks, but we have a good base from which to work.

It is my goal to expand the league for next year, but that will depend on interest from you guys. My idea is to get this league to 48 teams, divided into 4 conferences with 2 divisions in each conference ... this will allow us to move to an 8 team play-off ...which will be structured as follows ... 4 conference championship match-ups ... a 4 team semi-final match-up ... and then the Championship match-up. That's the goal ... hope to get it there with the help and support of you guys ... and gals ... on this board. We shall see.

Three more things I'm considering for next season ...

1) Members to choose and submit a team name.
2) If we can expand the league membership, I most likely will permit you guys to schedule 3 out of conference match-ups on your own. More on this later.

And

3) Presenting a prize pack to the overall winner. Nothing extravagant ... you aint going to hit the jackpot here, but something like a small trophy and a gift card of a yet to be determined value. The reason ... I want you guys to be actually competing for something other than some meaningless internet title. More on this later.

I will probably start a thread for sign-up sometime early August, but feel free to early submit within this thread if you wish. As usual, I might not be on the board as much over the next few months, but will check in from time to time. You guys have a great off-season ... Daytona is calling!

I'm in for next year. Forgot to pick a couple of weeks this past season and it killed me. All hands on deck next season.

How about a new GMC Sierra? Just check with your wife.

And as an aside, I'm in for next season.

I appreciate all of your hard work Alapaha. I wish I could have taken the championship home, but Rules deserved it.
