Maybe the defenses just aren't evolving with the times and have not caught up to the offensive push centering around speed and open space.
When will the defense catch up and do you enjoy the 55-42 type games that we saw last year?

Florida's defense never left. They just needed experience at the very young secondary.
We will be good next year. The staff that Mac put together seems to be very good.

Well, one SEC defense shut out two SEC opponents and held a power 5 opponent to the lowest offensive output in FBS ball this season.

Sorry the rest of you can't out Arkansas Arkansas.

Yes. There were simply no elite defenses this year. I expect some of the usual suspects to emerge with great Ds in 2015.

The days of a team compressing, and running three times up the middle, then punting are over. The goal will be having an attacking D, that causes turnovers like Oregon. It is really in how you define "back."

It is certainly frustrating to hang 40 points on someone and lose.

When will the defense catch up

it won't until they relax the rules that protect the offense so much. This has as much to do with the defense losing ground as the offense gaining.

defenses can't evolve fast enough to react to offenses and have rules in place to hinder them too. You would need an incredibly intelligent defense that can damn near call their own defenses on the fly to be able to do it.

Nobody can honestly answer this question until the games are played. It is harder to predict defensive performances then offense.

After the spring game last year a lot of people thought Alabama was going to have the best defense in the country. It didn't turn out that way.

This is correct. TCU is another great example of it.

Did you know Ole Miss only ran for 9 yards against TCU? lol.

You are constantly on perpetual troll mode. The OP started a legit discussion and you felt the need to stink it up.

No. SEC defenses were bad this year with 0 elite QB's in the conference. Will only get worse as QB's gain more experience like 2013. Blake Sims was the best QB in the league and he isn't NFL caliber.

And to try and answer the OP's question, I would say no.

What is inaccurate about the post?

Arkansas had a top defense in the SEC.

Top10 Nationally.

Gotta admit outscoring...

LSU
Miss
Mizzou
Texas

99 - 21 to end season is pretty impressive, no matter who your team is...

Our D was stellar, considering our O kept putting them back in the game continuously

Arkansas returns 18 of the 22 on the two deep for next season, the only remaining question mark is if Philon comes back or goes into the NFL draft.

16 of 22 return on the 2 deep for offense.

I agree. And it requires a more intelligent, instinctive player rather than just a brute athlete or headhunter. Offenses now will kill you if one guy doesn't do his assignment or one tackle is missed.
