We'll prolly finish between #8 & #10 in AP & Coaches poll at 10-3...

Good? bad? SOS?

What another weird season for UGA, I hate to say we under achieved by winning 10 after watching all those kids fight thru all the shite that transpired this year but it feels that way...

Agreed, we had a lot going on this year, but that doesn't change the fact that we were favored in every game.

Crazy year. A lot of different emotions. Hopefully we carry momentum into the spring

Yup...The UF loss is just what we do every year, but the SCe & GT derps really stung. You can call it snakebit but we've got one more hump to get over to become great. Even with the UF loss we were so close again to a special season....FML...

You do realize that just because you are favored does not mean it's a lock, right?

Odds makers had us pegged at ~9.5 wins this season. That was before we lost the best player in the nation halfway through.

No but it means you probably should win the game.

THE game, yes, but not ALL of the games.

Speaking of games... Let's pretend a whack coin has a 60% chance to land on heads and 40% tails. You flip the coin 10 times and it lands on heads 7 times. Are you disappointed with that coin because it didn't land heads every time when it was favored every time? Totally hypothetical of course.

Had we finished our season the way we think we should have, 11-1 with our only loss to Florida, we would have likely lost to Alabama in the SECCG, then lost to TCU in the Peach Bowl and ended up 10-3 anyways on a sour note.

I understand your statistics, but it's disappointing losing games youre favored in.

It's a good year. We get ten wins and finish in the Top 10 in the country. We did this with a below average QB (for us), without the best player in college football for much of the season, and with true freshmen playing in key positions all over the field, both offense and defense.

Could've been better, but could have been a LOT worse.

Given all of the circumstances - I will take it.

The losses by themselves are disappointing for sure, but to me the season is not. We will finish top 10 in all polls when we started outside the top 10 in all polls.

I could do without all of the injuries and extracurriculars, but then I couldn't call myself a UGA fan.

The loss that hurt (me) the most was the Florida game. We went into that game as strong as any team in the country and flopped like a landed fish. The Tech loss hurt, but only because of the flukey ending. USC? Well, nothing to say.

Harsh truth.

If you'd told me before the year that we would have our preeexisting issues in the secondary, Mason wouldn't have been able to stretch the field at all, Marshall/Mitchell/JSW would never make a full impact and that we would have to endure the Gurley fiasco, then I would have happily accepted 10-3. The way we ended up at 10-3 was extremely frustrating though.

So you're saying TCU would beat us so bad they stripped us of a win? I'm not even mad, that's impressive.

Richt's mean wins in his time at UGA is a little over 9.6. They weren't exactly going out on a limb with that prediction.

It's all a matter of perspective. What constitutes underachieving? Before the season started, if someone had said you will finish with 10 wins and in the Top 10, we all would have been good with that. However, SouCar was bad, Tennessee did not make the strides that were expected, and Auburn was not as strong as expected.

However, Arkansas was much improved and got even better as the year went along (Not to mention we beat them AT Arkansas) Auburn was still very good, we beat Clemson, and GT was much better than expected.

We tend to look at our team with the perspective we want to look at them with. We see we COULD/SHOULD have won every game. Florida was still bad, we had SouCar by the throat and if not for two rare fumbles would have easily beaten Tech.
We focus on a play called against USC as a bad play called (I still think it was a good call) and forget about a TD called back on a bad referee call.

It's all about perspective. We did pretty much what we expected before the season started, but can see how we could have done much better.
