if it meant going 11-3, winning your division in the SEC, beating a ranked bowl opponent, and finishing in the top 15....all in a "rebuilding" year?

I keep seeing this but I don't get why y'all are considering this a re-building year.

Senior RB, 3 Senior WRs that led team in receiving, 3 of 4 top tacklers are seniors and the other is Shane Ray who is expected to go pro, Hansbrough could go pro. Seems like next year is another 're-building' year.

Once upon a time, LSU clinched a trip to the Orange Bowl by demolishing Florida State the week after an embarrassing loss. We followed up the huge win over FSU with yet another embarrassing loss to Tulane in Baton Rouge.

Hard to go 11-3 back then, though, as we played 12 games from start to bowl game. We were 8-1-1 after the win over FSU that sent us to the Orange Bowl.

We were 3-7-1 in 1981 and 4-7 in 1983.

The 80s were a total fricking roller coaster. Huge wins and head scratching losses to Tulane and Miami of Ohio.

Mizzou is doing just fine.

Winning the SEC lEast this year was more of an indictment than an accomplishment. Previously, the only team to lose to the Ohio State in a bowl game lost the conference championship. This year that team won the conference, by beating a team that couldn't beat Indiana (not like it was basketball and this was the 80s). The whole thing was a shame really.

Lost from last year:

Starting QB
Starting RB Josey
5 WR's in the 2 deep(DGB/Lucas/Washington/Copelin/Clark)
2 starting OL (Including Seahawks starting RT)
Starting TE

That's 8 starters on offense and 10 of top 13 if you include Coplelin and Clark from the WR 2 deep.

2 starting DE's (a SEC DPOY Sam and Ealy)
2 starting LB's (including leader in tackles)
3 starting DB's (including Rams starting CB)

That's 7 of the 11 starters on defense.

If we weren't rebuilding I guess we were reloading?

I'd allow a loss to Indiana if it meant an 11-3 season.

No doubt.

Thank you Reedus.

I started to reply but then I realized I didn't want to invest the time it would to show all of starters we lost from last year
