I don't understand why anybody would assume that's what's going on. Maybe she was thinking about something else, like her team potentially blowing its chances to go to the national championship.

Because as soon as she realizes she's on camera she yanks her hand away and appears to have an "oh shite" moment - playing it off with the typical booger pick move.
