(In chronological rather than order of importance, to avoid bickering)

FLORIDA. Started it all with the masterful dismantling of Ohio State in a title game that almost included Michigan instead of the Gators. Then followed that up with another championship two years later to establish the STREAK. Ever so close to a third the next year, when they finally gave up the throne to Bama.

LSU. Won the second championship in the streak with another thrashing of Ohio State. Arguably the most impressive season in the history of CFB going into the 2011 championship game, and certainly would have added another title against any team other than Bama that year (especially since they won the Game of the Century against us earlier that year). Consistently beat highly ranked nonconference opponents throughout the streak years to add to the SEC mystique and cement the conference dominance.

ALABAMA. Three championships in four years says it all, but look a little deeper at what this program did in the "off" years. 2008 ranked #1 and undefeated when they were "Tebowed" in the SECC. 2010 was the most disastrous season in the Saban era after his initial year, yet still finished 10-3 with a blowout of Mich St in the bowl. 2013 was a "second" away from playing in the title game, and 2014 lost a playoff game as time ran out on the last drive. Incredible run of dominance and consistency.

AUBURN. 2010 was as magical a year as you could ever dream up. Not only was it Cam, the incredible comebacks, the "us against the world" mentality of the tigers - but it was the most remarkable response possible to Alabama's championship in 2009. While Bama fans were dreaming of Nick Saban ruling college football from his throne in Tuscaloosa, we suddenly had to watch our hated rivals take "OUR" spot at the top! Then in 2013, they thwarted Bama's quest to win three straight with the famous "kick six", and were 13 seconds away from extending the streak to 8 when they ran into Winston's theatrics.

There were many other big wins and notable teams not mentioned here, but these are the teams that actually brought home the trophies in the legendary STREAK. What a great run it has been. Time to go to work building another one next year.

Saban isn't even gone and bama fans are already starting up the 'past glory' threads. Jesus guys, at least wait a week before you start pissing and moaning.

An amazing run and I don't think it's over by a long shot. Just like the other conferences have retooled their offenses (and defenses for that matter), we'll adjust and be back in it.

The dynasty isn't over. We just lost our identity during the process. We have to get back to having the best D-lines and linebackers in the country. This high scoring shite took over and we have forgtten about the basics. "Stop the run" and " Pressure the QB". In the games that the SEC lost we coudn't do either with consistency

The dynasty is over. If it starts up again, it will be a new one.

Hopefully, fans of teams not represented here will understand that I limited it to champions to keep the time and length reasonable. No need to be pissy.

Nice post, great run. The BCS was good for the SEC.

Could have easily been two each for Florida, LSU (Mulligan Game), Bama and Auburn (should have beat FSU)...

Let us not forget Tennessee ushering in the BCS era for the SEC in a prophetic manner that would symbolize sec dominance of that era.

SEC Dynasty is out, for now.

If we win next year we can argue a hibernation of sorts...

SEC does need to shore up some defenses, while also getting better QB play. QB play has been the difference in most title runs....

Florida - Chris Leak was efficient but Tebow brought a wrinkle in 2006. Tebow was almost unstoppable in 2008/2009.

LSU - Matt Flynn was a great college QB IMO. 2011 LSU QB was a huge weak spot on an otherwise great team.

ALABAMA - Greg McElroy was more Game Manager than playmaker. AJ McCarron was a game manager who was also able to make some big plays happen. Coupled with a great Defense/run game we had some very complete teams.

Auburn - Cam Newton WAS the difference on that 2010 team. without him that was a 8-9 win team. 2013 Auburn benefitted from a new offensive philosophy that was maybe underestimated due to a DB turned QB-and that QB playing very well most times; also had some lucky bounces along the way.

Honorable mention to UGA. would have won it in 2012 if they beat Bama. Have had some very good QBs. The program seemed to be a step behind in one part of the game each year they had a chance at a Natty.
