Alabama without Amari Cooper and Sims shouldn't scare anyone... LSU is a bit of a mess right now... UGA will be good but replacing a QB again.

There are probably 9 or 10 teams that have legitimate shots to make it to Atlanta.

Auburn will have the talent and schedule to win the conference next year.

I agree. I think we should be better next year especially with Muschamp leading the D.

but will they have the discipline and composure and lack of vomit play calling in the red zone?

I'm losing confidence in Gus. He needs to restore my faith before I go claiming we can make it to ATL

IDK man, it's college football. Everybody has flaws... hopefully we will correct the issues with 2014.

This. Not only with his play calling but with his attitude as well. I wish he would just say he did a shitty job and the team didn't play well. Then I would feel better about him moving forward. IF he is unable to see that his play calling has been very "high schoolish" at critical times, he will no be able to fix it moving forward

You guys take your pity party to another thread. He's in year two as a power 5 head coach... 3rd year as a college coach period. What was saban doing in year to at Mich St?... what about Jimbo Fisher in year two at FSU?

Yeah a lot of these guys are overracting and melting hard. Offensively I thought we did pretty good, not as great as last year but still a top 20 offense. Defensively from the beginning half of the season took a big tumble and never stopped. If you cant be excited with a top offense next year along with a big time D Coordinator leading the defense then I dont know what to say. Lets see how it plays out.

Gus is 20-7 (almost a 3 to 1 win/loss percentage) in two years with two of the worst defenses in AU's history. There is only 1 game we got shut down on offense in those two years - against UGA this year.

People need to chill out. If Gus doesn't do better than 8 regular season wins next year, then yeah, it's time to worry. But for now everyone needs to chill out.

Exactly. I'm not saying Gus doesn't have flaws bc he obviously does.... but we need to have a little confidence he can correct them. He's coached 25 games here for Christs sakes.

No pity party and not melting. Just discussing a topic. Most of us are very happy that he is here. I know I am. But I would like to see him recognize the mistakes. Not just move on.

We were run off the field yesterday. Other than Reeds nice interception, our defense didn't make many good plays. The Wisky QB kept us in it.

After 15 practices, did you feel the team was better in and way? Our team was very uninspired this year. The entire year. Other than the LSU game.

Personally, I don't think the team or coaching staff recovered form the FSU game last year. Team was Bla all year.

Don't take everything as melting or downing. Its just discussion. Its not always going to be positive. Even from me who is usually positive.

Your definition of run off the field and mine are different... A 3 point loss in OT isn't.

Again, we all know we had issues on defense... that didn't change yesterday. The offense played well enough to win the game, granted the play calling late sucked.

THIS is what concerns me. We seem to always come out slow under Gus in big games. Also I just don't see much fire or intensity out of our guys. That LSU game showed what this team could be when they played angry.

Also consistency is a problem. You have no idea what kind of AU team u are going to see week in and week out.

With all that said I think we are in capable hands. Gus is still learning how to be an SEC caliber coach and to start your first 2 seasons 20-7 is not bad. But I am so freaking sick of 8-5 seasons. Let's see if Gus can string some back to back 10 wins seasons in 2015 and 2016

You guys need to chill out. Gus is fine. Pat Dye had season like this quite a bit and he has his name on the field. Gus has arguably got us to the title game twice in about 6yrs of coaching -

We don't have talent to win it every year -

Yesterday was disappointing, but I think most people are just in that overly critical dissecting phase. If we could've not had even that one penalty from mincy back on Wis's first scoring drive we wouldn't even be talking about the bad OT play calling.

I honestly expect Gus to make 2=3 questionable play calls a game because he is a creature of habit and we've seen him dial up those questionable "how was that shite ever going to work" plays.

We are in an awesome spot HC wise and as much as I hated losing last night, I'm excited for next year and seeing Gus and Muschamp Booming all up and down the field.

I get 1 philosophical post a year, I guess this is my 2015 one.

I would be fine with these if we didn't have seemingly obvious "why didn't we do this other thing" plays. Never understood how a power run team doesn't go for it on 4th and short around midfield.

They likely will score regardless of starting at the 50 or 20 with our defense. We only attempt to care on defense in the redzone anyways

And hell in this year's iron bowl we turned it over on the first play and fell down 14-3. In fact 4 times under Gus we have turned ball over on our first possession
