It's weird. Anyone else notice the steady roar, and how it seems to be choreographed according to the play?

That would take a lot of work to do but they could do it. My guess is if they're using artificial noise at all it's just to provide an ambient crowd sound which would hype the crowd up - they'd then take over when the plays got exciting.

I don't know if they are pumping it into the stadium, might be, sounds to me like it's just being pumped into TV feed.

Couple of swing shots showed crowd standing still staring at the field, but the sound was crowd roaring.

Something stinks.

HAVe has been doing that in their stadium the last 4 or 5 years.

Most things you see on your tv are artificial.

News reporters are usually standing in front of a green screen in a studio, not on site like it appears.

Wouldn't doubt artificial crowd noise.

I wish it was loud enough to drown out the OH OH OHOH from the FSU fans and their band. I wish they would come up with something new. This shite is old.

Depends on where the crowd mics are located.

I can't hear it. I turned the sound off becuase I can't stand to listen to Herby pulling for the Ducks. He is one of the most biased guys in the booth.

I just think they have the crowd mics right in front of the crowd and have the volume up.

ESPN laid off over 100 graphics people last summer and they've been struggling with graphics since then. I don't think they could pull it off.

ETA: evidence from this bowl season
