Why did Auburn run three plays in a row to the short side of field during OT?

I never understand this. In overtime Auburn ran twice and threw once to the short side of the field on their final drive. Why?

Because we have seemed to actively try and fail as hard as possible since Ole Miss. Did a pretty good job of it too.

I could understand a little if the defense on that side is extremely weak. Is it that Auburn doesn't have enough speed to get on the outside? I didn't watch Auburn play a lot this year so I honestly don't know.
