Expect to give up the lead late in the game.

I didn't really pay attention to aTm's defense when Snyder was there, it was too awful to look at

But Chavis runs wide 9 a lot so get ready to get gashed up the middle. The good news about that is that Myles Garrett SHOULD get a lot of sacks. You have to have great DTs and a great MLB though.

You are in a hotbed area for defensive backs, so I expect that to be a focus. Likes to run nickel a lot, and you guys have had some good nickel backs lately. His scheme overall and blitz packages aren't fancy, if you were hoping for a scheme tactician you guys went for the wrong guy. Keeps it simple and lets athletes be athletes.

yeah, really wish we had Jamal Adams but there are a lot every year

Nick Harvey is going to be a really good one. Not sure about who you mean though. Hurd was a playmaker but extremely limited and Burns is not so good

Little worried about mlb but I know y'all had a pretty weak one this year but still had a good defense

I'm guessing few Aggies have actually seen his games against them because they stop watching as we beat the shite out of them

Very good DC. Good against mobile QBs on the edges, not good against them up the middle. Usually has top notch CBs at LSU, so he can run his scheme. Plays prevent too much late and is predictable on his blitzes. I really liked him at LSU but honestly, it's a good change for both.

Not a good recruiter and doesn't get out and recruit very much. He has his select targets he goes after (usually LBs). He pulled Clifton Garrett last year.

He usually starts slow and makes good adjustments after first qtr.
Overall:
Game plan- A-
In game coaching- B (would be A but end of games hurts bad)
Recruiter- D+

Hate our fans right now. Just like Saban spurning LSU.

Chavis is a great coach. If our offense would help him out, he would be even better.

Chavis's defenses are built on speed. Pretty much blitzes every third down. He's in love with cover 2. Which is fine, where the mustang package came from. The strength of his defense is built on depth. Rotating players. He's likes press coverage man to man with strong corners

Without elite talent it won't look much different

Our defense was BAD before we switched to Beckwith.

Beckwith was fantastic once he took over at MLB, but when we had Welter I was worried about Bowl eligibility for a bit there. Seriously.
