No sugar coating this. I am going to be honest. A&M got a great Defensive Coordinator who will stabilize their defense so the offense can do its thing. A&M is a 10 win team now on average.

LSU drops to a 7-8 win team on average - depending on who they hire.

There is no doubt about it. LSU is in massive decline at this point. Yesterday was a complete embarrassment. Talking with LSU fans, though, no one is really that upset. Many just don't care anymore. We have seen this over and over and have seen it coming.

The game has passed Miles by and there is no point getting upset about it. It was a good 15 year run and now things have to reset.

I say all of this because I hate the sunshine pumping or changing reality to argue with other SEC fans. It is what it is and it is obvious.

LSU can turn things around next year IF:

1) Hire a great DC
2) Stabilize recruiting
3) Brandon Harris makes the progression to decent starting SEC QB.
4) LSU does not have another mass exodus of juniors.

All of that is possible and LSU COULD STILL compete for the West next year. Before yesterday, there was a possibility of LSU returning 20 of 22 starters. So, the ship can be righted for another run. BUT, things look horrible right now.

We'll see.

Chavis will either stay, leave and LSU secures a surprise DC that will bring more of an attacking D, or we will get another interim BDP type DC and everyone will melt.

Chavis is fantastic, will suck arse if (when) he leaves.

Anyone denying Chavis is great is a clown.

If all 4 of those things happen, why would I be wrong?

LSU is still INCREDIBLY TALENTED. IF Harris comes along and replaces Jennings and IF we get a good DC and IF most of the Juniors stay, then why would LSU NOT compete for the West?

I think that LSU is in serious trouble, but is still in a position that if those 3 things happen (and that will affect recruiting), then all hope is not lost.

I am not saying that LSU will win the West. I am saying that they will be good enough to compete. But, those things need to happen. Otherwise, we are hoping for 6-6.

Regardless of where that cat ends up, no one is irreplaceable.
I don't think most Ags care who our DC hire is, provided he chews on glass and gets the most from his players.

LSU will get theirs, and we'll get ours.

As long as Les is at the helm, LSU fans can forget about it.

He's the most OVERRATED coach in the country. Period. End of discussion.

Let the melt continue.

Geaux Tigers.

Because its pointless. I can see what is going on just like everyone else.

There is still some hope for things to turn around, but I am not very optimistic.

LSU has been snakebit since 1/9/12. I give Saban/Alabama credit, but really, the blame lies on Miles for not throwing the kitchen sink at Bama during that game. Miles started playing it safe and trying to squeak out wins. The 9-6 game really got in his head, I think, and he began to use it as a blueprint for success, which is stupid.

Oh well. It is what it is. It's just college football. My life has other things in it.

LSU is actually a pretty loaded team right now.

There are some severe issues with QB and offensive philosophy, but this is a team set up for a championship run.

Can't agree about the "everyone else" part, but kudos to you right along Some folks take this stuff way too seriously.

This is an interesting supposition, actually.

Yessir, and those other things are what matter at the end of the day. We'd all do well to remember that.

With a halfway decent QB, yes. Everything else is in place. I have little faith in Jennings though and Miles has something against Harris.

HNY to you too, ThirdSpur.

Congrats on the grab. A&M will be legit now, no doubt.

Chavis won't stop every drive like some delusional fans expect, but he will stabilize that defense and make you really competitive, which is all that A&M needs.
