With all the recent threads.. curious as to some lines that folks would draw...

As a Christian.. would you date:

An atheist?
Voodooist? (whatever the word is)
A witch?
A Buddhist?
A Jew?
A Muslim?
A Hindu?

As an atheist.. would you date:

A Jew?
A Muslim?
A Hindu?
A Buddhist?
A Witch?
Voodooist? (whatever the word is)

For either.. is there any other religious denomination you would or wouldn't or couldn't accept that would be a deal breaker?

The amount of zealotry is much more important than the particular religion.

As a christian I would only date other christians. Not necessarily because of the religious aspects but because it would be just too much damn trouble otherwise. It would be like dating someone who has their heart set on living in North Dakota while you wanted to live elsewhere.

I'm just curious as to thoughts on dating outside of personal religious beliefs from folks. I know some that do and curious as to if there is some discomfort or inner struggles with anyone that does, or if their convictions won't allow it.

Only other traditional Protestants so Anglicans/Episcopalians, Lutherans and Presbyterians though I'm kind of iffy on Anglicans now that they've pushed closer to the Catholic Church.

No to Muslims, Jews, Catholics, Orthodoxes, Methodists, Baptists and etc.

as an atheist id date all but muslim, but that has nothing to do with religious differences.

eta: I don't really have a problem as long as they don't nag about trying to convert. I also don't pick at their beliefs.

Both of those for me. I don't have a problem with them as people but I wouldn't want to be married to one.

Ok, I dated a Jewish guy in college for a bit. Liked him a lot, but that gap btw Christianity & Judaism was just too wide for either one of us to get really serious. We remained good friends, though.

I almost asked out a Hindu girl that was from India once at some apts I used to service. She fixed me some kind of porridge/oatmeal something with milk that was cooked for about 3 hrs.. was supposed to be some kind of nice delicacy or something. She was a really nice girl, but I barely stomached it down and decided.. couldn't do that.

eta-.. and my god.. the curry. I think they cook water with curry.

There's a verse in the bible about avoiding being unequally yoked. Pretty much what you're talking about.
