I was hoping you were banned.
This is piss poor. He was a coach for your beloved team and you can't even get his fricking name right?

Gator fans are known for being an impatient bunch. They will be running him out the door in 4 years. Foley needed a home run hire like Michigan but couldn't pull it off.
4 years to win the conference isn't impatient, every single coach who has done it since we went to title games did it within 4 years.

Miami was great for about 20-25 years thats it. They have stunk their entire rest of existence. Tennesse has been consistently great for decades but never on the level of the big 8.
Tennessee is 8th in all time wins. I would say UTs future looks brighter than it's past. The middle TN population is booming.
The migration of people out of the upper Midwest is hurting Michigan. It's already hurt the big 10.

I think Tennessee is a better job today than Michigan. If I were a hot-name head coach and could coach at Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida or Michigan, the Wolverines would be last on my list without a doubt.

I agree and that's not a slight towards Michigan. The demographics have just changed.

GTFO. UGA, Oregon, and LSU jobs will be sought after if availae. The recruiting base is too sweet.
Say what? You realize that when USC has full classes to give Oregon is going to be fricked with a lot of their California recruiting right? The best California kids are dying to go to USC and make them a power again. As USC rises, Oregon will fall off of the level they are at.

The only real things that Michigan has over Tennessee at this point are a better education and an easier schedule. Other than that, all their other draws are even.
Have a big stadium? So does Tennessee.
Willing to play young guys? So does Tennessee.
Strong tradition and commitment? Again, Tennessee does as well.
UT has better in-state options for recruiting and are closer to Florida and Georgia than Michigan is. Also, the current UT players in the NFL are better than the current Michigan players.
If you're from the Midwest you think of Michigan as Charles Woodson, Coach Bo, and the mystique of the Big House. But in states that matter as far as high schoolers' opinions, they think of how Michigan has done since Lloyd Carr, freezing conditions and playing in a conference that the rest of the country pokes fun at.

I feel like Michigan has enough draw to recruit nationally even if local demographics are not in their favor. Tennessee certainly has to recruit nationally given the fact that high school football within the state is not nearly as competitive as in other states.

Nashville football is only improving. Also you can find some good kids coming out of Baylor in Chattanooga, and we all know how good Memphis football is.Being three hours from Atlanta doesn't hurt either.

Its certainly improving. But we still have to make a living recruiting in other school's backyards.

That's funny because for years UK fans have noted that UT has a built-in advantage over UK because Tennessee produced so many elite high school prospects.

Michigan landing the huge name in Harbaugh just proved that it's a better job than Florida right now.
Michigan is the ultimate "has been" football program. Limited recruiting in state, No obvious advantage in any other recruiting hotbed, plays in a COLD area of the country where kids from warmer environs won't want to play, along with being a member of a piss-poor conference that hurting itself by the day adding teams like Rutgers and Maryland.

Actually I don't think the Michigan job is that appealing. I don't think the best athletes want to play in the B1G conference. If JH wasn't an alumni no way he would even consider the job. After he leaves if the grass isn't much greener, I think they will struggle to find a coach that can get the ship turned around.

Where is their recruiting base? When the got rid of Bo, they lost their pipeline from Ohio. Kids from the south are not playing there with the SEC. Cali kids are getting plucked to Oregon, and othe Pac 12 schools. No in state talent to be had in Nebraska. Also, the tough steroid testing is in effect.
The same recruiting base they have had for the last 9 decades.
