If Harbaugh went to Florida, he would probably be Florida's next coach instead of Michigan's.

You forgot the part about Michigan being an elite public university. Arguably the second best in the country. Florida always talks about its academics (just like UGA), but Michigan is actually a top school.

Not just his alma mater. His Dad coached there for Bo. Harbaugh grew up there. He grew up around that program. It sounds like he would like to stay in the NFL.....but his family is pushing him to take the Michigan job. Six years and $48 mill. is not a bad fallback plan.

Miles and Richt certainly maintain success in the form of 8-10 win seasons every year but I don't see LSU landing a big name after Miles leaves, Georgia maybe but they don't really have to try to do better than Richt.

Don't forget that Miami and Tennessee used to historical powers but have fallen off hard in the last decade. shite happens. They will likely come back but you never know for sure.
The top five states for recruiting are Florida, Texas, California, Georgia and Louisiana. Only two of your eight teams are from those states. Colin Cowherd is correct when he says kids are trending toward warm weather schools.
Notre Dame will never win a national title again but still get by as a power because of a national name.
Nebraska will never be in consistent title contention again because they've officially passed the statute of limitations for greatness. Their name means jack shite to kids these days. Plus, they're in the middle of Nebraska which is hard to get kids to travel far from home to.
Michigan and Ohio State are still big names in Florida which helps them a lot. They'll rule the Big Ten as long as they hang on to Meyer and Harbaugh for awhile.
USC, Oklahoma, Texas and Alabama will never go anywhere due to proximity to hotbeds for recruiting, strong commitment to football, and staying power throughout time.
I would put teams like Florida State, Florida, LSU, UGA and Oregon as teams that will be up at the top for years to come.

Yeah because Nick Saban and Les Miles were big names before we hired them

I know the Iron Bowl loss hurt a lot but don't take it out on me. That's what marriages are for. And in your case, a gay marriage with Sylvester Stallone.

I think Oregon is going to be a perennial power as well. All that Nike money and the past decade have shown they are on the fringe.
Curious to see if USC will be back next year as well.

Oregon will be difficult not seeing them in the mix for a while.
USC should be back in the mix being able to recruit at full capacity and getting depth.
Pac 12 to me is really playing some good football across the board and is looking to challenge the SEC for top conference.

Beg to differ. It will never be an elite program on a consistent basis again.

Miami was great for about 20-25 years thats it. They have stunk their entire rest of existence. Tennesse has been consistently great for decades but never on the level of the big 8.
Also the top 5 states for football talent are 1.California/Texas/Florida
2.Georgia/Ohio
Its been that way for several decades

so what exactly has changed that suddenly after decades upon decades of success stops Notre Dame and Nebraska from being great?

Florida State, Florida, LSU, UGA and Oregon
They need about 50 years of success to ascend to where the big 8 are.

Where is their recruiting base? When the got rid of Bo, they lost their pipeline from Ohio. Kids from the south are not playing there with the SEC. Cali kids are getting plucked to Oregon, and othe Pac 12 schools. No in state talent to be had in Nebraska. Also, the tough steroid testing is in effect.

I agree that Florida/Texas/California is the top three in some order, but Ohio is not on the same level as Georgia nor is it ahead of Louisiana . That's just foolish.
These things just happen. Chicago, Harvard, Yale, Minnesota and others used to dominate in football but are nowhere close to it now. Alabama buttfricking Notre Dame wasn't an anomaly, it is just a sign of the new norm.

I think Florida is for doo doo heads, but it's a much better job than Michigan. And oh yeah, you're giving all bama fans a bad name, which is hard to do. You blow
