Social media seems to bring out the absolute worst in some people. Best to remain as anonymous as possible, I think.

yeah like asking someone to stick around and suffer through shite they clearly don't want to just because it will hurt you is pretty selfish too.

Typical Gump response to a nut job that represents a lot of that fanbase. The pattern is disturbing.

And neither do you. Don't ever give up. I'm not sure I'd be as brave as Jimmy Valvano but imo terminal patients aren't the same. The rest of us always have options.

you have no idea what it's like to hit rock bottom to the point of being suicidal.

Exactly. Lots of people who commit suicide see no other options available. It is sad because very rarely is that the case. It is easy for us to judge others when we never walk in their shoes.

Would you laugh if it was one of your parents, siblings, children or your significant other? I'm sure the friends and family you apparently work with in some way appreciate that you secretly laugh at their dead loved ones. Pussy.

I'm not as cold as the poster you are referring to but suicide is a most definitely a selfish act. I've had 3 people I know well that did it. You would not believe how well those people were living compared to millions of the poor in this country. I've had some low moments too that I bet would scare the shite out of most of you. Damnit, there are always options.

I think it's a case-by-case thing. Anyone who labels all people who commit suicide in any certain way are being ridiculous and are clearly ignorant. I've known some folks who were suicidal/did commit suicide and while I think it's selfish, I also understand that the human mind is a powerful powerful thing and once your mind gets going down a certain path, it can be very hard to turn around.

Yeah, but there is a lot of mental illness involved, etc. Trying to get someone with mental illness to get help can be extremely difficult. You can have all the money in the world and it doesn't mean shite when you're in that state of mind.

Wrongly convicted felons, mental illness, people who lose their whole family in car/any type of accident, etc

so many things can go wrong in the blink of an eye that can lead you down a dark path. It's very hard to turn it around and takes having a full supporting cast, which is not easy to come by for a lot of folks.
