Just what would you expect them to say?

Y'all realize that UNC team in 82 escaped several games by 2 points vs James Madison and Virginia that year so far Kenucky victory of margin is incredible, and against highly ranked teams.

This UK team may not have the big time superstars like Jordan or Worthy, but we are the deepest team with talent.

I don't think even Duke could score inside against UK. Cats are just too long. Their athleticism makes it difficult to play a perimeter game, too. After today, I think the Cats can lose but not be beaten.

Perhaps the best college basketball team since the 71 or 72 UCLA Bruins under Wooden.

Once more for emphasis.

From top to bottom, probably. The undefeated Indiana team had SIX players drafted and some of the UCLA teams were ridiculous, but none had twelve players with the talent that UK has....check back in March.

I still think we lose 1-2 games this year. Will be some tough road games in conference that aren't big names. We tend to slack off in games that aren't big-named teams.

It's the best defensive team I've probably seen in my lifetime. I'd have no problem arguing that.
the 96 team had a press out of this world

They made Louisville look weak in the paint, which they most definitely are not against any other team. It is hard to shoot over trees. I pity the rest of the SEC this year, especially the teams that must enter Rupp.

1991 UNLV was the best I ever saw. Larry Johnson, Stacey Augmon, Greg Anthony and Anderson Hunt were all seniors and first round draft picks who played really well as a team. Plus there were some good players off the bench. That team just demolished everybody they played that year until they slipped up against a Duke in the Final Four (perhaps intentionally).

I agree with the idea that, as the number of wins increases past 20, the Cats will be increasingly focused on the goal of being unbeaten. 40-0 would be historic and would raise the value of every player.

They can win every game in the SEC regular season and the conference tournament and will want to go into NCAA play without a loss. They seem to be cognizant of the goal already, IMO.

If they are, then Colombia and Louisville can pretty much pencil in elite 8, right? Way to early to make that call. Look like the best team in the country for this year. After 40 and 0 we can discuss best ever.

Columbia? No, but UL and UNC certainly could be. They're the two best schools UK has played in the OOC schedule, and they're very good. I think they'll both beat Duke on their home floors.

i agree with that choice. best team i ever saw. winning every game doesnt equal best team ever as some seem to think. those guys would have won just as many without a head coach. as far as talent in the starting five goes i dont see this kentucky team being close to that UNLV team.

teams that would push their shite in

99 Duke team with Magette, Brand, Avery, Boozer, Landgon

96 UNC team with Carter, Jamison, Cota

UK team with Walker, McCarty, Padgett, etc

I don't think this team is better than the UK team with Davis/MKG on it. That team could not do a god damn thing with Davis.

the thing about this UK team is that they are eliete on defense but they are not on offnese. If they face a legit top flight Carmelo Anthony / Lebron James / Durant type college player that can score against anyone, they are going to get their shite pushed in.

A team this year that would give them fits is Duke. they don't have anyone that can handle parker.

They're very talented, but no most talented team of all time? No.....

I also think you're underestimating how hard it is to go undefeated in a season.....

And do you realize college basketball is not even close to what is was in the old days when future hall of famers stayed til they were juniors and seniors?

And beat Virginia by 2? With Ralph Sampson? Seriously? That's your argument?

That was probably the most talented team I've ever seen. Undefeated in the regular season and 34-0 until Duke pulled off the major upset by 2 points in the Final Four. And they had won it all the year before.
