I'm reviewing my Bowl Pic'em's and right now I have Texas beating Arkansas but then I realized this is likely a 5-3 game with both QB's a high probability to give up the Safety. If you had to pick who's more likely, Swopes or Allen?

Either way there's just something that tells me Arky will figure out a way to go full Arky and blow this game

Allen is decent while Swopes is terrible.

I'm thinking this game will hinge largely on how well our interior OL handles the Texas DL. Texas DL is pretty stout.
Although Allen can move around a little, if you hit him a few times he gets rattled it appears.

This game could very well be closer than I would like.

If we get a big lead then BA settles down and plays well. If its a tight game in the 4th it really is a cripple fight to see which QB can do the worse job.

Allen has some real guts and is willing to play through the pain but he has a nasty tendency to not handle pressure well. Swopes seems like one of those vaguely decent one games and utter poo the next type guys.

If they both play down to the level we know they can then I give the slight edge to Allen because he at least has learned to throw the ball away. Granted, a lot of times when he doesn't need too... but still.

Brandon Allen isn't great but he's a hall of famer compared to swoopes at this point.

18 TDs to 5 INTs with the toughest schedule in the country is better than some QBs could do.

Even Texas fans would tell you Allen.

Stupid-arse OP; but, I think Swopes is really, really bad. Hogs by 2 TDs.

This is why I give the edge to Texas, Arky just hasn't won many cripple fights this season

I don't think either coach cares about scoring a single point and will rely heavily on defense

The real mismatch of this game is the Arky DLine vs the Texas OLine. Arky is WAY too physical for Texas and their OL which is inexperienced and lacking talent. Arky just needs to shut down the Texas run game and force Swoopes to throw and wait for the picks to come in.

The Texas D is decent but they are mediocre by SEC standards having given up 40+ 3 times this year including 45 to Iowa State.

I will be surprised if Arky doesn't win this by a couple TD's, just need to avoid turnovers.

Their offense is mediocre by SEC standards, scoring over 38 points once all season.

Its because Texas lines are filled with soft, over-rated Texas recruits.

If it becomes a derp fest, I will just have to drink more while watching it from our box this Monday.

Swopes wouldn't start on a single SEC team.

I think this is the year to beat Texas as far as just wearing them out with physical play. If Strong stays there and gets a chance to rebuild the program in his image then a lot of that soft line play will tighten up in the coming years.

Their DL is actually one of their strengths...

Arkansas should win by 10+ points.

Arkansas averages 32 points per game
Texas gives up 23.3 points per game

Texas averages 22 points(104th nationally)per game
Arkansas gives up 20 points(16th nationally)per game
