Sanders was just faster than everyone else.Boz was a roided up a-hole.

Both were self promoting pricks.

Bo did not "run over" the Boz. That's part of that legend that grows through the years that somebody else brought up

Except for that video highlight that shows Bo running over the Boz.

Maybe if he's not injured or play for he Royals as well. He might have a better career than the Boz and Herschel as well.. that wasn't the point.

Media coverage follows personalities, not just great players.

Being a great player gets your foot in the door, but having the persona that people latch onto (positively or negatively) is what gives an athlete that "larger than life" status.

I agree, and although he wasn't a football player, the Alpha Dog in this is Muhammad Ali. And yes, he was the greatest.

The reason why Sanders was/is bigger than life is because he was the best defensive back to ever play the game of football.

Meh. They hit and Bo's momentum carries him into the end zone.

Looks like Boz was trying to drag Bo backwards and was unsuccessful.

It is ok to admit that a former Auburn player was good.

This is actually a really cool topic but people are getting sidetracked by the op's amari reference, probably should have left that out. I think he just mentioned amari bc he is highly regarded as the best in his position this year. I don't think anyone here is making a best ever claim for amari like is done with players like bo and walker.

Anyway, it's a really interesting topic to look at legends. People want to talk about stats when they shite on, say, Ingram's Heisman campaign. But his stats were comparable to Bo's I know, not sure about walker's. Not saying Ingram can even touch Bo, so just relax Aubs! Stats don't seem to be very important in this discussion. My stance is with a player like Bo he was probably a once in a generation football player, but the surrounding intangible mystique from other factors such as being so good at other sports has lifted him to kind of a level beyond what is justified by his play on the field alone. I think McFadden might have been better than both, but you can't really compare eras.

Probably so but Bo was playing two sports.
