not neccesarily. bama was shite before saban and very well may turn to shite again when he leaves. it's the way of the world. I predict a similar turn of events like when the bear left. following a legend just doesn't work. as far as the other teams in the west, I wouldn't look for a sustained decline; maybe LSU after miles.

I would love to renew the old AU-UF series. I go back a few years and remember vividly the old days of Tucker Fredrickson, Jimmy Sidle and others that you newbies don't even know exist at AU.
I always remember AU as the Plainsmen. That's what you were called more often than not back then. Not many said AU Tigers...its was always the Plainsmen....and that's a compliment from "the prettiest plains"
It was destined to mend when expansion took place and UGA was your oldest rival with us next. I think before expansion we played AU more than they played UA?

It was a great series. Florida was the first SEC team to ever play in Auburn.
