@HamiltonESPN: Sounds like #Mizzou is getting one of the best young DC's in #CFB.... Barry Odom. Former #Mizzou All-Big 12 LB.

@rivalsmike: #Mizzou is getting a great young DC in @Coach_Odom .... Barry Odom. former tackling machine. LINK

@Dave_Matter: Odom was very popular with players at Mizzou, great on recruiting trail. Will have players' respect immediately as Steckel's successor

@MihirBhagat: Memphis Defense

Before Barry Odom: 117th
After Barry Odom: 22nd

@jcshurburtt: #Mizzou made a great hire here. I know @HamiltonESPN agrees with me! LINK #SEC #Tigers

@DavidCMorrison: Memphis defense's YPG against in 2011 (before Odom): 491.0; 2012: 383.6; 2013: 370.7; 2014: 349.5.

@DavidCMorrison: Memphis defense's PPG against in 2011 (before Odom): 35.1; 2012: 30.3; 2013: 24.6; 2014: 19.5.

Massive jumping the gun moment: perhaps we've found Pinkel's successor.

Haha, we'll see. I do like that he's only 38 though.

Your point?

(The defense really didn't play poorly in that game anyway)

Mizzou defense force

21 in first half
188 in first Q

Something along those lines

Memphis did throw two pick 6s

Not dominating, but not as bad as the final score either.

Anyway, it's one game and a bowl game at that.

I would have been completely satisfied if we had hired Odom instead of Robb Smith last year. I'm loving Robb Smith though.

agreed, he made Memphis' defense into a very stout unit. He will do well at Mizzou
