I didn't realize Skippy threw him under the bus. I figured if anyone got a bad rap it was Chris Cosh when he took over the defense after Charlie Strong left. Then Lou brought in that dumbass Rick "Don't Blitz" Minter. That years defense was worse to watch than this years.

Yeah, Rick didn't wanna be here. I think he lasted one year. I get all those years mixed up in my head as far as when Jappy Oliver came and went and Charlie left and Rick came-in and it was all a fricking mess for a few years there with Skip running the show.

I remember Rick telling me that Skip was an amateur. I think he had just been fired at Cincy maybe? I dunno. Jappy had the whole Moe Thompson thing blow-up in his face and Moe's mother Trish was wanting compensation and it just kept getting worse.

It was a total shite-show under Skip.

Now, Cosh and Fitz both were big buddies with Skip. One of them got testicular cancer right about the time McGee was insisting they both be fired and Skip and Jenn took that personally. Of course, Todd was a good guy but still yet ... and they eventually ended-up at ECU with Skip and then down at USF but everyone knows how that ended. They're probably with him wherever he is now.

Where is Skip now? Somewhere in Louisiana right? La Tech? I think they are playing in a bowl this year.

He needs to stay at the little schools.

I've met Dave and his wife at the lake in Prosperity. My relative is their neighbor. He is a real nice guy. Our daughters played together at the lake.

Who is your relative that is his neighbor? Down around Black's Bridge ... your relative is on the Lakewood side of 391, or the Maple Knoll side?

He did do decent at ECU. I can't remember if he left for the USF job or if he was fired then picked up by USF. I believe he left for USF, which ended up being a mistake. We will see how long he stays at La Tech.

Wes Stillinger, I'm not too familiar with prosperity, but he lives like 50 yards away from Wes in a 2 story brick home. At least he did a year or so ago

Edit: we talked some football from when he was coach, and he talked about how terribly spoiled Summers was and his bad attitude it was interesting.

NFL not an option for Roland this year. He's going to have to go to FCS and play immediately or FBS and transfer. My bet is he'll go FCS.

Apparently news is out that Roland is interested in returning to the team as a graduate transfer, provided his grades work out. He transferred to Winston-Salem State and took classes but did not play football, therefore he still has a year of playing eligibility left.

Here is the State article about it: LINK

Saw that earlier ... had heard some rumors that he had reached-out. My wife knows his mother very well and when I followed-up on it last week, sure enough, it was confirmed.

But I'll be surprised if it happens. It goes beyond the grades and gets well into work ethic and attitude. Besides, if we get these other two guys on the 19th, and I'm hoping we will, there is probably not going to be room for Shaq.

His other option is Coastal Carolina if I remember correctly.
