I think I mentioned it in a post a couple two or three weeks ago, about Shaq being in the doghouse in a major way and I didn't expect him to return.

Well, I'm hearing he's finally gone - for good.

The guy who sits directly behind me in WB is from Lexington and said the same thing at the South Alabama game. Sad to see unfulfilled potential.

I'm glad to see him gone. Guys like him are a disease and need to be gone.

man, this is on him. I'm sad to see him go in that there's a lot of wasted potential, but whoever convince him to go pro early f*** his career. He was not ready to go pro early, he doesn't have the highlight reel, and he could have absolutely use another year to develop. He won't even get an invite to the combine

He didn't decide to go pro early ... he was told to go pro early and they wished him the best of luck.

He intended to return.

He was told he would not be going to the bowl, he threatened to leave early and was told ... okay, that would probably be best for everyone involved. We wish you well. Goodbye.

He'd been given more chances than most.

So what if he rolls blunts with cheap arse cigarillos, not everyone had someone who cared about him enough to tell him about White Owl Peach or Optimo's. That really shouldn't have been a big deal.

Kinda ironic that Kwinton Smith, Jody Fuller, Shaq Roland are all gone (same class) ... all rather than Quinshad Davis. He's about to break the career TD mark at UNC.

Yep, I was on the "Make Room For Quinshad" bandwagon when that was all going down. Quinshad was a Parade All American out of HS and an SC guy. I believe that was Bubba's call to say that we were full at the position, is that what you remember as well?

Saw Quinshad play basketball his senior year in a game that featured Sindarious Thornwell, LJ Peak, and Davis. The UNC football coaches were at the game, and I remember wishing we had gotten him instead of them. He had some of the nastiest dunks I had ever seen in a HS game. Reminded me of another pretty decent Gaffney basketball player turned WR... Sidney Rice.

Want ironic? The last time a super star came out of Lexington was Demetrius Summers, if I'm not mistaken we got him and Kenny Irons wound up going to AU because of it. Summers busted, Irons did not.

I was what you might call intimately familiar with how all of that went-down.

Davis attended practically every home game we played his senior season ... all except one.

We had four WRs on the board that year ... we had room for three, which is about the norm.

Davis was the lowest rated of the four.

Great kid - big Gamecock fan. But he insisted on playing-out all of his options.

Gaffney has one of the biggest Gamecock Clubs in the state and he always tailgated with the family of a big booster, right there beside us, South Endzone. I've actually still got pictures with him that were taken at different games, he ate with us a couple of times. Great kid.

He waited too long - had his bluff called, then he waited some more hoping a scholly would open-up for him.

I know for an absolute fact that Bubba practically begged him to solid commit ... remember, all three of the guys that committed basically committed in a five day window. That left Davis on the outside looking-in.

Right up until the very end we sent people to Gaffney to talk to Davis and his Mother and try to get him to greyshirt ... but he was certain Tennessee was going to offer by that point. They didn't.

He was just about to agree to grayshirt with us when UNC came-in at the last minute and that was that. He took a visit and committed that weekend.

We did everything we could to keep him here. He's a quiet kid - but he had it in his mind that he was gonna ride everything out.

It's worked-out well for him so far I guess - and best wishes to him always. I hope he does well his senior season and gets a shot at the pros. He's made good grades, kept his nose clean ... he's just a good kid. Everything happens for a reason.

Watson had nothing to do with Kenny.

Kenny's Dad, David Sr, and Skippy dumbfrick Holtz clashed like oil and vinegar and Skip completely fricked that up. That mess was all on Skip and his dumb arse. I cannot even express how badly Skip fricked that up. Skip was such an egotistical fricktard about how he handled Kenny ... and it spilled over onto Brad Lester as well. And, for that matter, some others that we could have signed has Skip not totally shite in his own bed.

Kenny was a helluva kid. I remember the night he came to me to borrow a set of bolt cutters so he could get his stuff out of storage and leave ... totally fricking fricked-up situation totally to blame on Skip's dumb fricking arse.

Skip Holtz was a total cluster frick.

I started not liking Skip when I worked as event staff at WB when I was 16. It was after the arse beating SOS put on us in the blackout game in 2001. Afterwards I was down in the lounge outside of the locker room talking to Cleveland Pinkney and Skippy come in laughing and cutting up like nothing happened, and yet just about every other person on the coaching staff (Charlie Strong and Buddy Pough in particular) looked absolutely disgusted.

That sounds like him ... talked about a sense of entitlement.

Skip and I got along fine at first - until about his third year and I realized what a lying sack of shite back stabbing douche he was, and still is I'm sure.

Totally fricked Guge ... made Guge a sacrificial lamb.

Mike McGee despised him and rightfully so. Skip is a snake in the grass.

Thank God that asshat didn't take over after Lou stepped down. I remember a lot of people wanted him to take over after the 2002 season and even more when the HC job became vacant because of what he had accomplished at UCONN.

Now after his stints at ECU and South Florida and now seeing what all HBC has accomplished that they all realize how much better off we really are that he didn't.
