Does Saban deserve a raise?

He currently makes around $7mill. Is Harbaugh more deserving of the higher salary because of his success in the NFL?

Saban's getting a raise no matter what happens in the playoffs. They'll probably bump him up to $7.5 or maybe even $8 million.

I am sure Sexton had a clause put in his contract to help with that. Does Harbaugh have a Mercedes dealership? I bet not

Harbaugh has won every where he has been.

It isn't fair to Saban to try to compare him to Harbaugh.

Isn't his contract wrote up where if he wins a national championship he automatically becomes the highest paid coach?

I'm pretty sure Sumlin has a similar clause in his contract for finishing 3rd or higher in the SEC West.

Harbaugh has been more successful than Saban on the college level. Harbaugh won big at a private school with lots of white players. That team was one of the worst in the country when he took over. Saban doesn't have anything like that on his resume. Plus he failed in the NFL.

its pretty common in a lot of these big time Coaches contracts.
Saban had it at LSU.

I imiagine he has it at Bama, but no one has talked about it because it has never applied.

Until Harbaugh wins something meaningful, I wouldn't worry about it. Saban has hardware to show for his work.

I agree with this.

Entirely different circumstances and Harbaugh's NFL resume' certainly warrants being the highest paid college coach. One had success on a professional level and one has had success at an amateur level.

This thread is full of morons

If you're hiring a head coach with the intentions of winning as many NC's as possible, you hire Saban.

Why does Saban's salary need to go up because of another coach being paid more? I've never understood this in sports.
