Muschamp is likely the second best DC in the SEC. The best resides in Tuscaloosa, and his name is Nick.

I actually saw that. I think it was on the SECN bowl preview.

Tebow started laughing and said it all Roll Tide all the time for this dude. Finebaum asked Marcus to back him... Marcus remained silent :)

How exactly can you disagree with that statement? I forgot you're a fricking moron.

Is the troll here that Muschamp is the 2nd best DC in the SEC? Because Saban is clearly the best defensive mind in the league. I would argue Chavis is second over Muschamp though.

I think it was specific to Alabama. The catch was they were talking about DC specifically, which is why I think Tebow started laughing since he did not say Kirby Smart.

No troll intended. I happen to agree on Chavis, provided he has the players. I would go even further, when he has the players, that "flying to the ball" defense is the best in the country, pro or college.

But all-around Finebaum is right. Take the Bama secondary this season. Really nothing special, except for a player or two. So, what does Saban do? Doesn't give the passer any sort of comfort zone. Reminds me of his mentor, Coach James, or Woody Hayes in his prime.

I don't think Saban has spit the bit but a couple times at Bama. Garcia, Spurrier and Alshon got him one time. And Arkansas almost got him this year.

Am I supposed to be upset with this statement? It's true. It's like saying Gus is a better OC than Kiffin.

Two direct quotes from Finebaum says it all bout his bias: " the 3 times Alabama won the NC were the 3 best days in my life"...mid Oct. this yr on SECBN. "I am wearing my Alabama tie to the Sugar Bowl in Jan:....last wk, again on the SECBN. He actually said, 3 wks ago: "of course the media has influence on the college football standings. The key is to not abuse that influence". I mute he & whatever the producer's name is & just listen to his interviews, which are usually good ones.

I think this was on the SECN bowl preview. Otherwise, I doubt would have heard it. It was just kind of funny because the implication was Finebaum was all bama all the time. He started twitching/tapping his pen like teachers do when they are getting really pissed.

It works for him though. He has come a long way from the Birmingham Post Herald Days. And when he was on local radio, I loved the Dye/Stallings interviews. It was like a continuation of the grumpy old men movie franchise.

They weren't really discussing who was the best defensive coordinator. Tebow and Marcus Spears were discussing how Auburn's defense would be greatly improved with Muschamp. Finebaum then piped in saying Saban was still the best defensive coach. Tebow laughed off his comments saying it was roll tide all the time with him

Until Muschamp does something besides be a coach in waiting, lose a BCSCG as DC and get fired as a HC I don't have a problem with that.
