Would you consider the Mississippi schools "stepping stone" type jobs?

Over the past years, we've found that both of them have discovered (seemingly) very quality coaches that have already found consistent and really unprecedented success. But my question is, do they have enough notoriety at this point to be considered somewhere that can have a great coach that stays rather than using the program to gain a reputation for bigger and better endeavors?

The state of Mississippi had a great opportunity to change their football image this year and they couldn't cut it. Kinda sad really. They're probably asking "when is it gonna be OUR time?!" and the realistic answer is never.

Mullen and Freeze are both about to make 5 million a year, there's nothing stepping stone about that. Maybe a MAC or AAC job could be called stepping stone.

State had as much success in 2014 as Arkansas has ever had in the SEC.

45-14
24-17
17-10

And lost and went to the Citrus Bowl. We've been as well.

I sure wouldn't call Ole Miss and State destination schools.

Destination? No. But there isn't a long list of OOC programs who could successfully poach either one.

Your program isn't on the same level as Arkansas and never will be.

We're better

You've won four SEC games since 2011. Dan Mullen won that many in October.

The scores and wins speak for themselves. We're going to our fifth straight bowl this season. Arkansas hasn't had a string like that in at least a decade.
