Because of former 5* DT Lamont Gaillard

Defensive end Josh Dawson had a strong review of Gaillard after Friday's practice, saying the freshman had done "a full 180" from when he first arrived and was a "full different defensive player."

"Coach Rocker, he's doing a good job of coaching and teaching at the same time. Lamont has taken on the challenge of trying to be that football player," Dawson said. "This year was a big learning experience for him, and right now we're getting to see everything he learned. I feel like he'll be a great player for the Georgia defense."

On a side note anyone who was following this guys recruitment know that his junior year in High School earned him an early 5* rating. Then during his senior year he just let his conditioning go to shite. What have other insiders been saying?

Even when he ballooned up to 320+ I think he might have had the quickest first step out of ANYONE I've ever seen. By all accounts he realized he let his high ranking go to his head his senior year and he came into summer workouts ready to work his tail off, shed some bad weight, and learn the position. I think Gaillard has the opportunity to be one of the best DL's we've had in a long time and he and Thompson together will hopefully be a force together.

We shall see

I certainly think we have a chance to be improved. We need better interior line play. The way we got gashed in the running game versus Florida was an eye opener. We need people that can move bodies inside.

News I was hoping to hear. Gaillard's junior film is some of the best I've ever seen from an interior DL. If he gets back up to speed and teams up with Thompson, we will be very tough to run on.

With the returning players on defense, and improvement from the young players such as Gaillard we might be able to actually improve next year instead of it being a rebuilding year like so many thought. Nice.
